I go back to my 6 stringers when i want to rock, but when i want to explore or challenge myself with something new, this is the one i grab.
Sound
This one does it! I totally got sick and tired of having all these guitars in altered tunings so I said ****-it, and bought this rg 1527. first off it is a beautiful shade of deep-dark metallic blue. Great finish on all parts and the low B string gets all the "heavy" you could ask for.
Features
Just enough of the good stuff without going over board with abalone binding and signature endorsements, one volume, one tone, low pro trem, best of the best tuners, and it is a prestige model with case. I haven't really come to any conclusions about the pick-ups yet, there good, they work. This is the first time i had to turn down the bass on the amp even at low volume.
Ease of Use
It takes some getting used to the wider neck and having that extra low string, but I've never played a 7-string before. I bought this for something different and challenging. I play RGT's exclusively and this guitar feels right at home with them.
Quality
QUALITY!! Ibanez prestige, what more is there to say? Flawless paint, super smooth neck. The tone rings out from this guitar even before you plug it in. This is the first guitar i bought that exceded my expectations.
Value
yea, a 10 for value too. was going to get the RG 7321, but wanted something that would retain some kind of value in case i didn't like it. I also was looking at the K-7 and universe but those were just too expensive. RG 1527 is right in between those. Glad i got this one.
Manufacturer Support
gave this one a 10 because the best factory support is the type you don't have to use.
The Wow Factor
Didn't NEED it, but had to wait to pick it up for an extra month and it was all i could think about. Royal blue is a very deep color and it is very pleasing to the eyes, black chrome or "cosmo" chrome is also a nice touch. MOP inlay logo says something special and sets it apart from run of the mill Ibi's

"if you want a 7 string here it is"
i will be satisfied with this instrument for a very very long time. i will only replace it if i want a new guitar or if something just so happens to randomly occur.i only dislike the color but if you think about it your not buying the color your buying quality and sound.
Sound
This instrument is versital as well as powerful you can use it for just about anything.
Features
the guitar comes with the (edge pro 7) knock off of the floyd rose its a very good trem and once you get use to it, it is a very big part of your everyday use. My personal opionion though is to buy a zr7. the only small complaint is that the cut out for the 24th fret is a hair short so if you have longer fingers your in luck. but dont let that discourage you its only a pinch off
Ease of Use
the sound pretty much sounds amazing right when you plug it in, the ibz pickups are not match for emg 707's but they hit perfection when putting these pickups with this wood. its rather easy to modify this guitar. its really easy to use the guitar, has a very fast neck amazing body. The manual is very useful the only learning curve is the seventh string but you should get use to that if you just practice. overall very very playable instrument
Quality
the product is amazing there are no other words to explain this guitar. the color is the only complaint but it isnt bright like the pictures. its more toned and could be mistaken for black. its a very sturdy guitar very very reliable. it sounds just as good in the studio as it does on stage. this guitar should last a good 10 to 15 years.
Value
this is worth every penny
Manufacturer Support
I have never had to call in for support on my equipment thank god. Ibanez is the best.
The Wow Factor
its amazing and i love it

"It called a Prestige model for a reason"
Verified Purchaser
zZounds has verified that this reviewer purchased this specific product from us.
All in all I'm quite pleased with this purchase. I choked a bit on the initial sticker shock (it seems just about everyone prices them the same). On the other hand, the options were limited and I greatly desired a new 7-string, so the 1527 is where it's at. Now that I own it I can't complain much....the thing absolutely kicks gluteus maximus.
As a side note, interestingly enough, for the 2007 Royal Blue color, it actually is not as lightly colored in "normal" light as it appears in most stock photos. Resting on a stand it could easily be mistaken for black and when turned to view the speckled color in "normal" light it's still not as bright as portrayed.
Sound
While the IBZ pickups aren't EMGs by any stretch of the imagination, with the combination of woods the 1527 definitely has a nice sound to it.
Features
Of the included accessories, it was interesting to note that the whammy bar isn't the screw-on type, but rather then push-in / pull-out style. Not a huge deal other than it'll take some getting used to if you're accustomed to having a free-floating whammy bar. Otherwise the included case is probably decent (I say "probably" since mine's now permanently housing my old 7420 which has seen better days). However, it's your typical hard shell case with red fuzzy interior and a typical enclosure for accessories such as the whammy bar, bag of allen wrenches, picks, cable, etc.
Ease of Use
It's your standard 5-switch, 2-knob, 2-pickup Ibanez with 24 frets. Once you stop trying to wear it like a hat, it's pretty easy to figure out what to do with it.
Quality
There were no issues with this thing out of the box. There have been no issues with it in the three weeks I've owned it (as of this posting). It's a solid piece of work, which one would expect from a Prestige model.
Value
It had a considerable price tag compared to my prior shopping preferences, but I swear for the money it's about as close to jesus on roller skates that you're going to get.
Manufacturer Support
Fortunately I've never had the need to contact Ibanez regarding support.
The Wow Factor
Obviously I'm glad to have this particular model. My only real complaint is with Ibanez management. To my knowledge, in 2007 they've only been producing two models of the 7-string line within the sub-$1000 price range: the 1527 and the 7321. The former is the Prestige model whereas the latter is the lower-end fixed bridge model. I just want to know why they aren't making any "in between" 7320 or 7420 tremolo models.

"For the serious player ..."
overall , i feel this guitar is worth buying as it is for a serious musician who wants playability more than looks .. it is a fantastic guitar and i look forward to playing it every day
Sound
U will HAVE to change the pick ups . i bought the guitar from singapore and had it shipped to India where i live . the stock pick ups were muddy, and the sound was not defined . I put di- Marzio drop sonic 7 for my bridge and di marzio air norton 7 for the neck and i'm very happy with the sound now .
Features
the good features of the guitar are - it's extremely light , has a fantastic feel on the fret board for both soloing and riffing .. good sustain and decently good looks and the plus points of the guitar .. the only problem with it is the tremolo .. it has a edge pro tremolo and quite frankly i was not fully satisfied with it .. firstly the tremolo bar is too low to use and it's quite tight to use . secondly , the tremolo cannot be locked in a single position so if u headband or jump around while playing live , the tremolo keeps interfering ..
Ease of Use
it's a easy guitar to use.. 1 volume knob and one tone know .. while changing the pick ups i faced a little problem with re wiring my new pick ups .. i had to change the pick up selector switch as it was not up to the mark . i recomment a 3 way switch as a five way for this guitar is useless ..
Quality
this guitar is quite sterdy and i enjoy playing it . the problem is that the paint chips off easily as the edges of the guitar are quite sharp and a small dang can chip off some paint ..
Value
This guitar is worth the money for sure ...
Manufacturer Support
never had to deal with the company so far and if i have a problem , there is nothing i can do as there is no Ibanez customer service in India .
The Wow Factor
the guitar doesnt look as good as the schecter jeff loomis signature or the C7 but it's functionality is mind blowing .. phenomenal response it has and an awesome sound with di marzio pick ups .

"Why spend $2000 or $3000 when you can spend $900???"
I think I'll be very satisfied with this guitar for a long time to come. The only thing that I could think of changing about it is again, the pickups.
Sound
As far as sound quality goes, this guitar is great. Sustain is very nice, on lingering notes and harmonics. The wood is very good, the only reason for lack of a 10 is that the pickups could always be better, like a nice set of DiMarzios or some EMGs. But they are still very good for stock pickups.
Features
This guitar has all the expected features, double locking trem, locking nut, and or course, more strings :D
Ease of Use
As with all 7 strings, it takes some getting used to. If you're like me and have a 6 string tuned to B, you'll get a little stumped when going up and your jump isn't from F# to B, it's G to B, which gets a little annoying for the first couple hours on things like sweeping.
Quality
Overall, I still give this guitar a 10. It is my first 7 string, but I've played many, and for $900, with the locking trem and such, this guitar is worth every penny.
Value
This guitar has so much potential. It will be worth it still several months or years down the road. And if you wanted to boost that, just throw in some better pickups.
Manufacturer Support
Ibanez has great support, and the warranty covers pretty much everything. I've never even had to deal with them though, because their products are pretty rock solid.
The Wow Factor
The pickups being set into the body is always a biggie for me. That adds to a more solid look on the guitar, and I like that finish on the hardware alot.

"www.myspace.com/fourmisanthrope CHECK US OUT WE COMIN TO A HOOD NEAR U!!"
I will be happy with her for a while.. And really i think when it's time for a new one i'm gonna get a custom guitar set up pretty much the same way as the RG1527 with some add ons of course. I couldn't replace it the only way it would not b my primary guitar is if i found something better.. i doubt it.
if u wanna hear how it sounds www.myspace.com/fourmisanthrope
Sound
First off in about a week or so this guitar sound will be on my bands webpage after we get done with studio stuff so if u wanna here how it sounds and some good metal check us out.
I'm an active guitarist in a metal/nu-metal band. This guitar is AMAZING!! i was using a 7 string esp with EMG actives in it...it has a beautiful sound as well but the Rg1527 crushes it hands down. this guitar has one of the best sounds i have every heard coming from a seven string guitar... You get the low end crunch that u are looking for but instead of ur sound being muffled cause of the really low tuning, it's like ur on stage all the time. plug in and play... you'll see
Features
there are things about this guitar i dont even understand yet. i cant even begin to explain what this guitar can do and what it features but there is a lot of features to it.. all i can say is it comes with an instruction manual! Now i dont know about everyone else but i have never seen a guitar with an instruction manual.. and it goes way way deeper than just how to use ur tremelo. when/if u buy it.. make sure to read it trust me
Ease of Use
I own four six strings and 2 seven strings. Out of all of them the Rg is the only guitar that i have bought that when u take it out of the box its ready to go right then... the only thing i had to do was drop the tuning because it comes standard B and i play in A.. other than that i didnt have to make any adjustments what so ever i simply plugged in and ripped and it was awesome.
Quality
The make is AMAZING!! Normally seven strings are a bit heavy cause they're bigger and fatter.. This guitar however is ridiculously light.. Which helps alot with speed.. u dont feel so weighed down..The finish is beautiful its a much darker blue than in the picture but it looks a hell of a lot better in my opinion.i havent had this guitar very long so i'm to sure how dependable it is But its Ibanez so what would u expect, the name says it all. this is my show guitar it sounds to sexy not to be. And with the way the guitar is built and the specs on it (that u should definitely pay close attention to) i feel that is very dependable and will last for many shows to come
Value
its worth it if u know ne thing about 7's then u know about the K-7 at least somewhat which by the way was a 1400 dollar guitar. I wanted that guitar for the longest time but they discontinued it...bummer! But this what i'm gettin at is this is VERY if not the same as that guitar for 500 bucks cheaper and the case u get with it is great it thick and sturdy so it will be able to take a betting and still keep her safe. The case it self is probably like... 150-200 bucks by itself so what u get for the price... u cant beat it
Manufacturer Support
i had an issue with my credit card for some reason, i think the guy ook down a wrong number or something but customer service acted promptly on the issue. (for u not so educated people out there promptly mean on time, see u do learn somethin new everyday) they fixed the issue quickly and got me my guitar so as far as i'm concerned thumbs up...good job Zzounds
The Wow Factor
i wanted this guitar as soon as i saw it! and i'm overbearingly picky about what guitar i am gonna buy i'll walk into a music shop with a pocket full of loot and wont buy ne thing cause nothing appeals. If i say this guitar in a shope i would have gotten it probably 3x quicker it looks A LOT better in person. sexy is an understatement take one look at this guitar fresh out the box i guarantee ur jaw will drop... Mine did, and i'm generally that guy who is different to everything... i get compared to Cartman from south park a lot actually. I commend Ibanez on this guitar it is a pure work of art one of their best if u ask me.

"it has all the street cred you could ever need"
i am satisfied with it.
Sound
for stock pickups, they sound really good distorted and clean, but i am going to put dimarzios in it to get a bit more distortion out of it.
Features
it came with a wrench set, but it didnt help at all when i went to adjust the bridge. it didnt have enough slots for the springs, so i had to send it to a place to get it set up.
Ease of Use
it is like any other guitar ehn it comes to sound
Quality
it is built really sturdy and firm. it has a lot of street cred
Value
it is well worth it to me, but i have only had it for a week
Manufacturer Support
i had a couple of troubles with it, and the place took care of them all
The Wow Factor
it looks really nice, i just wish that it came in pink

its very nice to play...great feel and like i said great tone for heavy stuff...the manual is really good...it tells u alot...it takes you while to get use to 7 strings and take u a while to get use to the floyd rose and learn how to use it but once u do its awesome...
Quality
i fint it hard not to be repetitive..so im just going to say refer to everythin ive said above and yea its really well made...it seems like it should last for at least another 10-15 years
