"It works."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Very reliable audio interface. I would recommend to friends.
Sound
Can't record and playback simultaneously at 96khz. Must choose one or the other. No problems doing both at 44.1khz and 48khz. Acceptible latency. with hi-z in from guitar can run through Amplitube modelling software and listen back without noticable lag. For bigger projects direct monitoring is recommended.
Features
Would be nice to have a switch for the outputs so you could switch between different pairs of monitors for mixing. Don't really use the compressor/limiter but handy to have. Seperate volume control for headphones would be nice!
Ease of Use
Had everything working within an hour and have had no problems since. The included Sonar software caused latency problems for me with this card. Didn't like the look of it anyway. Downladed reaper and no problems.
Quality
I've had it for 1 month. Its well built and I expect it will last.
Value
It works with my laptop and I've heard of very few problems with this usb audio card. Also it has vista 64 bit drivers which is a great sign!
Manufacturer Support
Hopefully wont need to find out how good they are.
The Wow Factor
Unless I found something that was guaranteed to work without issues on my setup, I would most definately buy this again.

"Brilliant USB device."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
All I need right now.
Sound
Sounds very quiet and clear through a dell mini 9 computer.
Features
didnt use the software.
Ease of Use
Downloaded the driver from edirol, plugged the unit in and was astonished that it started working beautifully with Ableton 8 beta right away. Wow.
Quality
Well made. Much better build than the M-Audio fw 410 I used to own. XLR plugs are snug .
Value
Looks like Edirol really got this usb tech down.
Manufacturer Support
Talked to the local Roland guy before buying the unit. He was helpful in going over the various products.
The Wow Factor
Looks great and is solid aluminum.

"Oh, beautiful!... Let's plug it... OH, terrible!"

Overall: 1 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
Very good sound.
Features
For me, the most useful features are the TRS outputs (balanced jacks), which are the reason I bought it. On the other hand, this card brings no interface-configuration software (all goes hardware), apart from a mini-little ASIO/MIDI config window, nothing else!!
Ease of Use
Can't deny it's easy to use. Good on this issue. Clear manual, but very short.
Quality
Here come the bad news: working exclusively with this card (mother board sound off), my old PC (pentium IV 3,2ghz; 1GB ram) can't play mp3 (on winamp) with no clics or random stops. Even worse: the cpu load on Ableton Live, or on the included Cakewalk Sonar LE, goes crashing just with 4 vstis loaded!!!. And all these with the UA25EX audio driver buffer at max level... This issue is the key, and, sorry Edirol, but any other thing doesn't matter when this fails.
Value
If it worked fine, would be good value. For me: crap.
Manufacturer Support
I'm still waiting an answer from Roland/Edirol Spain...
The Wow Factor
I wanted it...

"Best USB interface in its price range."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I have no intention of buying another interface, this one meets my needs. If Apogee redesigned the Duet without the funky breakout cable, made it USB instead of FW and lowered the price by $150, then maybe I'd consider that instead.
Sound
This sounds better than anything else I've tried in its price range.
Features
Pretty basic, but it does have a built-in compressor/limiter and MIDI. It's better that it be basic in features but better in quality where it counts, such as is the case with its mic pres and ADA converters.
Ease of Use
It's just plug and play on my MacBook Pro. I didn't even have to install the driver software since I don't need the extended software features. Works great with Logic Studio and MainStage.
Quality
No cheap plastic here. You could probably run over its metal case with a car and it would still hold up.
Value
A bit more expensive than competing units from ART, Presonus or M-Audio, but you get what you paid for.
Manufacturer Support
Edirol/Roland tech support was easy to contact with their previous gear. I didn't have a need to contact them about the UA-25EX.
The Wow Factor
The industrial design is not as cool looking as a Presonus AudioBox USB, for example, but it is designed well.

"Stay away from Edirol"

Overall: 0.5 out of 5 stars

Buggy software driver. No line level input
Ease of Use
Never really worked
Quality
Does not work!
Value
Burn your money instead. At least you'll get some heat.
Manufacturer Support
Nothing, Vista drivers at 1.0 version, no update, does not work with sonor
The Wow Factor
Looked not bad... before I tried
