Recently bought the B2-Four when I purchased my bass and I love it! As a beginner I didn't want anything that was super hard to learn to use. The tuner function and the pre-amps are perfect for practicing in my apartment. One Bass, the B2-Four, a 10' Cable, and Headphones and I'm set! It's that simple. FYI- The B2-Four comes with the power adaptor! The listing isn't clear, but it does come with it, as of 7-4-2024. I'm still a ways away from playing live gigs, but I'm liking the idea of the Direct Interface connection. Many of the local OpenMic Nights around me don't want amps. This will be great. And from all the comments I received from other members on the Facebook groups I belong to, the B1 Four and the B2 Four are solid units. OH! And I already tried connecting it to my MacBook Pro, GarageBand recognized the B2Four right away. Since I already have a USB-C cable for my phone, no need for any extra cables. I can't be any happier.
Sound
Works exactly how I need it to. It's simple, and clear to use. Plug it in and it works.
Features
Love the built-in tuner and pre-amps. No need to buy an extra headstock tuner, and I can hold off buying an amp for now. Put my money towards lessons!
Ease of Use
Super easy to use. Turn it on, and the big buttons are clear what they do. I watched a couple of videos online to learn some new features, but for me, turning the B2-Four on and practicing is what I needed.
Quality
Online reviews made the first generation "B1-Four" sound like it was a toy, I am very happy with the build quality of the B2-Four. It's solid. I actually like the idea of it not weighing in like some metal boxes.
Value
Yes, I think the price it plenty fair. Since I don't have to buy a headstock tuner and practice amp, I have money to put towards more lessons.
Manufacturer Support
I haven't dealt with Zoom, but I can't say enough about the customer service at zZounds. I called in to make my purchase and was extremely happy with this company's customer service.
The Wow Factor
The general look of the item is great and the buttons are clearly marked. No complaints here.

"Beginner Bassist's Best Buddy."

I purchased the Zoom B2 Four when I bought my first bass in July of 2024. As a total beginner Bassist I needed something simple to use and that checked off many boxes to help save money. The B2Four takes the place of a practice amp, a great tuner, metronome, and more features I haven't even begun to explore. With hundreds of pre-set sounds I've already found more than what I can use. The build quality is nice. Reviews online made the earlier B1 sound like it was cheap plastic. First impression the B2 Four felt well built and looks better than the B1. All the controls are easy to understand and large enough to see without my glasses. The very first day I turned on the B2Four I connected it to my ('21) MacBook and then to an iPad Air ('24) to record my first sounds from my bass. No wondering what buttons did or what cables I needed. The USB-C output worked well for recording into GarageBand and into a Video on my iPad. (not at the same time) I'm happy with this product and think it'll work great since many of the local bars are changing over to "No Amps", so the Direct Input / DI will work great and mean I don't have to purchase or lug around an amp.
Sound
Sounds are mostly good and useful. There's a couple of funky / goofy sounds, but with 300 (?) pre-set options and only 200 used from the factory, there's room to make your own. (I haven't needed yet)
Features
The Built-In tuner and the fact I can practice with this without anything more than my bass, some headphones, and a 1/4" cable is so wonderful. I live in an apartment, so spending money on even a small Amp would be a waste of cash at this point in my learning.
Ease of Use
10/10 for Simplicity! You plug-in your bass, your headphones, power the B2 Four up and start practicing / playing. Same effort as a practice amp, but only weighs like one pound. (?)
Quality
I don't see why this won't last a long time under normal use. All the switches and controls feel well made.
Value
Prices seem to be the same at every store selling it. zZounds customer service and the short-term zero interest payments made buying the B2 Four now a no brainer. I was going to just buy a cheap headphone "amp" to practice with, but this product did other things well, that it made sense to buy it now.
Manufacturer Support
I purchased this through zZounds. My experience with zZounds has been amazing and I HATE shopping online.
The Wow Factor
I like the black / flux carbon-fiber look. The plastic is heavy. The item does not feel cheap.
