"The ZOOM GFX5 is THE BEST Pedal for the money and than some!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Ill be satisfied with this product forever. Im very tired of typing so I just wanna say EEEYEEEAAAA (LiL JohN) and rock on.
Sound
The sound of this product is WHATEVER you want it to be. From Rock to death metal to country to smokin blues you can get whatever sound you want just by twisting a few knobs and pressing save. I use a "Hooligan VooDoo SG" (Its the only one in the world) with this pedal, and this pedal just screams when i ask it too and it hums along to the wicked riffs when im not feeling quite as "sassy". My only tip for this pedal is read the instructions and sit down with it.. it has soo many extra things you wouldnt realise are on it until you read the instructions.
Features
The most useful features.. Id have to say the way its set up. This pedal is like having 3 pedals all set up, with whatever effects you want on each, than u press a button and wammo.. you have 3 new pedals, mind you you can press a button and get 3 new pedals over 40 times.. thats alot of pedals.. the least useful feature is the headphone jack.. i have a marshal amp.. why would i use headphones? The casing is SOLID steel which i like way more than the plastic 707 (used to own it, was wicked awsome so i upgraded to this one) The only thing i wish this pedal had was a USB port so i could play MIDI out of it too.. haha.
Quality
This product is great. Extremely reliable and ive dropped it atleast 25 times and its still in perfect condition.. hell of kicked ive gone running off doing the little angus young jumpy leg thing and dragged it off the stage once or twice.. its awsome.
Value
umm.. if something sounds better.. has more effects and costs half the price is that value?
Manufacturer Support
I never had to ask for support.. so they get a 10
The Wow Factor
This is the sexiest pedal.. I love the smooth metal body.. it makes me feel special inside, i have strong desire and lust for this piece of beautiful artwork. (REREAD THAT AND IMAGINE ME TALKING WITH A LISP, hahahaha, i did it and laffed.. maybe you should too.)

Well right now i am very happy with this product and don't see a need for replacement It does everything I want. The real problem have is I I keep off the floor so I can fine adjust all the options. So I havn't used the foot pedal much.
Sound
Everything is there right at your foot. I can use it with my Line6 amp or I can plug it directly into my computer and record with great tones. It was 199.00 dollars well spent.

Quality
It is very well built. an all meatal case and easy to see LEDs

"Best Buy in the Field"

More than I expected at this price range. Turned my HRDlx in to a nice Twin without the expense. I'll wear this out, replace it if anything happened, plays a good as any equivalent product, and offers more than I will ever use. The Fender Twin amp model w/ my HRDlx is the best and I use it exclusively. Really sounds good used as a stand alone unit w/ head phones where you can run it thourgh the paces for practice.
Sound
I found about 2/3 of the default settings to be useless to me personally but for the money their available. It seems to have a high signal to noise ratio, so for that alone I'll rate it 7. They have nailed the Fender Twin modeling tone on the head which is worth the price of admission. My HRD + Zoom on Twin = Fender Twin amp at half the price. The head phone output sounds excellent.
Features
I like the built-in drum machine and use it to practice. Good presets and easy to save user defined settings. You can ajust everything. Nice large easy to read display. Built-in tuner.
Quality
Solid build quality.
Value
Almost half the price of other popular brands and offers as much, if not, more options for the money.

Sound
Hi I recently purchased this nifty little pedal and sense then I've played about twice as much...I mean it. it's so much fun to use I'll just sit in my room and jam for hours with the beautiful little drum machine. my favorite distortion on it is the van halen I love the flanger the naunce for finger picking and the mt7th for heavy metal the 12 string is cool too thanks Boss! Britton in the 210
Features
I have to write about the features too? Like I said before the drum machine is exelent the only reason I wont rate this a ten is cause the sampler kinda suck's but other then that
Quality

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

I am looking into music schools at the moment and I will most likely build a board whenever I do go to school but until then I dont plan on changing a thing
Sound
The sound is one of the best you can get for the money. The only problem is that the amp has no affect on the sound whatsomever.
Features
The expression pedal was a really nice touch the sampler is really nice to use when you just happen to come up with an awesome riff. The drum machine is also really cool just to jam with.
Ease of Use
It was really confusing at first then I decided to just read the instructions and it made a lot more sense
Quality
It will probably last until the day I die
Value
It is worth every dime

"Great sound, but electronic problems started at less than a month old. :("

Overall: 3 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Purchaser zZounds has verified that this reviewer purchased this specific product from us.
Am already looking for something else that will hopefully not break so soon. If stolen, I would buy something else.
Sound
excellent sound. very customizable. surprisingly good crunch for a multieffects processor.
Features
full features for what it is. only step up would be for a recording unit, or something with digital outputs.
Ease of Use
all of the knobs and buttons can be confusing at first, but allow excellent control.
Quality
the product FEELS solid, but the electronics began to fail within a month. It began by randomly changing the bass or treble settings on me periodically, then more often, now (a year or so later) everytime i use it the display freaks out and randomly flashes through and changes every possible setting until i hit it several times to get it to stop. It has never been gigged or abused - it failed on me before i ever got the chance.
Value
What good is a great sounding product that begins to fail amonth after you buy it?
Manufacturer Support
Have no time to bother.
The Wow Factor
it definitely does look and feel very nice.

Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
overall i love the GFX5. if i broke mine i would buy another one just like it. because of the effects and the built in drum synthesizer. it really helps me with my recording. GREAT PROCESSER!
Sound
i think it has great sound quality. i use it live and with a four tracks recorder and it sounds great. keep up the good work.
Features
the patches sound great, but it should come with a power cord and cable.but other than that its fine.
Quality
it is made very sturdy. it could take a good pounding.it would be for on the road use.but i haven't had it long enough to know how long the mechanical parts would last.but i think it will last a long while. i don't feel the need to keep a backup.
Value
great buy for the price.
Manufacturer Support
i haven't had to deal with the company.
The Wow Factor
the design it self is great

"You'll either steal from a friend or buy your own."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Well, it's been a year and I still love it, but there is better equiptment out there (more expensive and sophisticated). I plan to do a lot more shows and start recording. which in return means more expensive equiptment. I feel I have become a good enough musician to start spending heller cash on top of the line gear. But this will always be in my setup.
Sound
I have had this pedal for about a year or so and I think it was one of the best purchases I have made as a guitarist/musician. Be prepared to take some time with editing patches. I will admit that it isn't an easy pedal to understand at first, but it's just something you get better at over time, and once you understand this amazing pedal, you'll get the sound you need. I play a wide variety of music, and this pedal allows a wide variety of sounds, and for only $199 I feel like I ripped Zoom off. I know Zoom gets ripped on because it's made out of the states, but now a days what isn't? If you buy this pedal you'll understand what I mean. Music is music anyways; who cares what country it was made in as long as it allows you to rock.
Features
My personal favorite feature is the "EQ". Mess around with the EQ knobs and you'll find many different tones. I also like the use of the expression pedal. It has some very odd effects which remind me of an "Incubus" type sound (weird, trippy, and relaxing sounds). The distortion are really cool too. There is to much to say about the features. They are all great!
Quality
It is made out of metal, very tough. The pedals are plastic, but I they haven't gave me a single problem. I've dropped it on my garage floor, which is cement, and it toughed it out(not even a dent or scratch). This is a kind of pedal you can play shows with, I have played many shows with it and it performs great everytime.
Value
For $199 you get an awesome device that assits your sound immensely.
Manufacturer Support
I have never had a problem with this pedal, therefore the customer service is a 10.
The Wow Factor
When you hear what it can do you'll probably want to steal from whoever is showing it to you. If you don't have $199, I hope you can run fast.

save up some dough and get a better rig
Sound
it has an avg. sound with distortion. what I dont like is that it sounds too "digitized"
Features
switching between banks is a breeze as opposed to the boss Me-50 where u have to manually crouch and hit a small button to switch banks.
Value
cheap but doesnt last long
Manufacturer Support
easy to reach.. helpful my gfx-5 failed right after the warranty period it began randomly switching effects at random making it useless. I'm guessing this a common problem for this product. I have read other reviews describing the same problem.

its awesome. get this over the gfx3, definitly worth the extra fifty bucks. my cousin has it, its still pretty good but nothing compared to mine.
Sound
a lot of the sounds sound alike but there are so many different sounds that you can make. when i play Enter Sandman on MS mtl it sounds exactly like the song. t doesnt sound the greatest live, but when i record it sounds almost like a studio did it.
Features
there are a lot of features but most of them sound alike. L-Funk is prety sick tho.
Ease of Use
it was hard to figure out but after i read the manual a few times it was easy.
Quality
it was ruggedly built, survived a few accidents.
Value
worth every penny
Manufacturer Support
never needed it.
The Wow Factor
i didnt know how good it would be before i bought it, i started to have second thoughts. but dont, it is sweet.

"Kick ass"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
If this product was stolen i would be in a state of mourning. i would either buy the pedal again or get a newer model by the same company. but i dont feel the need to upgrade unless something happens to it
Sound
the over drive is awesome when playing in my thrash metal it really screams and can vary from a soft light fuzz to a full blown gain filled mascre of a sound. when playing blues it gives a nice warm fat sound but the clean on the pedal is a bit to strong and bright but could be because of the way i always have the equalizer set.
Features
this pedal has every thing u need, metal case incase the vocalist is warped and decides to jump on it (the beringer v tone lacked in this aspect and suffered a ill fate, not that it was mine i wouldnt be seen dead with one. the expression pedal is awesome and really lets u get the full sound out of the effects.
Ease of Use
all though it took me a week to figure out how the unit worked. once i swallowed my pride and being a male reluctently turned to the instruction manual. once i went through it quickly the pedal i found was really easy to use and after knowing the basics all the extra features were easier to figure out.
Quality
the pedal came to me in great condition there was nothing wrong with the body and it all worked great. i have great trust in the pedal and have no fear that it will cut out while playing.
Value
id pay every cent again if it were lost or stolen.
The Wow Factor
i saw the GFX 5 in the shop and started to drool over it since i first laid eyes on it i have been in love with it

"great sound! user friendly"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
dont think i will ever need a new effects processor
Sound
Great, equalizers and amp mods let you get the exact sound you want... and more! ** i would have to say the greatest sound feature on the pedal, is when you loop a sound in sampler mode, and accidentally record a little slice of dead sound, like a pause between the end of the riff and the end of the recording. the sampler will actually edit this out while it is STILL playing after the innitial loop so that it plays continuously smoothly!!!**
Features
i wish you could play 2 different patches in the sampler mode, but you cant even play one...they only allow you to use the drive function of the effect you were using before you switched to the sampler mode, all modulations are turned off, you just get the amp sound that you selected until you switch back out which is still good because there are 30.
Quality
very stable and sturdy, good feel to foot switches. the value knob is a little cheap but its not something to worry about.
Value
i personally felt the price was a little high, but i wasnt going to buy anything else because of the features this had.
Manufacturer Support
no support needed, instructions cover everything.
The Wow Factor
me and my friend actually referred to the visual apperence of this product as "sexy" once. but then we smacked ourselves. but i would say thats really what sold me.
