"Zoom G9.2tt - Ya gotta get one"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

Very happy. Would replace it if stolen (and I would hunt down the thief AND his family). Great thing is, if it was lost, I could buy a new one for reasonable money, hook it up to my computer and be back in business in 15 minutes.
Sound
T%his is an extremely well-built unit with endless tone possibilities. As an old "pedal die-hard", my expectations were not over the top, but exacting. The 12ax7 tubes allow you to tweak the amp and cabinet models for variety and the effects are really first rate. This was my first venture into the realm of MIDI controllable pedals and I found it extraordinarily easy to use......very good documentation, instructions from other musicians on Youtube, a VERY active user community sharing tips and sound patches (international, in fact)....can't ask for much more. The patch libararian and editor is superb. I've been using it with my '66 Fender Showman with stunning results. Hint: You definitely get bang-for-the-buck using this on an amp with a good clean channel. I'll be trying the unit on my Vox AD120VT through the effects loop shortly.
Features
Good *Easy to create, store and swap MIDI patches *Wide range of effects, including the interesting "Z" pedal Needs improvement *They should have included a MIDI in/out to USB cable to get you started faster
Ease of Use
I compare this to an old Digitech RP12 I had and there is no contest on ease of use and range of features. Worlds ahead!
Quality
This thing is built like a tank. Gig ready and I have every expectation that it will last. Only concern might be the tubes during transport (although they are well protected within the unit.
Value
All this for the price of one boutique pedal???? Unbelieveable.....awesome.
Manufacturer Support
Have not had any dealings with the manufacturer.
The Wow Factor
I was jamming with some friends using the Zoom for the first time...they now want to enter the 21st century!

"Best multi-effects pedal on the market..Does it all clean to dirty"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
If it was ripped off or lost i would run out and get another...I'm hooked
Sound
I play live and also record in the studio. I wanted one pedal to do everything , and do it with transparency and tone. So Off I go and buy the POD XT Live , plug it in and start to play a gig. I found the distortion was good but was missing the punch..even through my vintage Marshall rig. Recording tone was dissapointing... Then I tried the Boss GT 8...I hated the processed sound and lack of clarity..it sounded very muddy. The Digitech was better but lacked bottom end crunch even when I spent hours messing with all the settings. Then I bought this Zoom monster. I plugged it in and just ran through the presets..WOW this thing is so transparent and the tube tone is full of MAJOR TONE. In the past I had a couple of zoom pedals and I really liked the noise gates but the sound was a bit thin and dated..unless you play 80's hair rock. This new ZOOM archetecture is really the next big leap in tone quality,
Features
Full Boat of features everything you need and more!
Ease of Use
Very easy to program..set up like stomp boxes..much easier than Digitech's GNX which for me was not intuitively designed. Very nice layout without a billion knobs (like GT-8) Does anybody really want to sit at their kitchen table trying to set up a GT-8. NOT me ..with Zoom you can do it all from the convenience of your computer.
Quality
TANK ! enough said!

"What I wanted."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I'd probably get another one if it was lost or stolen. That reminds me... better back up my sysex data.
Sound
Very good sound quality. I was looking for a way to get a bunch of stomp box type of effects all in one single board. The purpose was to eliminate all the various pedals, adaptors, cables and noise. I'm not the kind that nessecarily wants famous peoples tone. I go for my own thick, rich tones and carefully adjust the drive so it cleans up by rolling off the volume knob on my guitar. This pedal does that for me.
Features
Comes with a good power supply and the "wart" is half way down the power cord. I like that the wah and volume pedal are right there on the same board also. Has a very good Tremolo. I set the Tap Tempo button to BPM and that allows me to set my delays, tremolo, etc to 1/4 note, 1/8 note, etc. independantly so no matter which "time" effect I use I can taylor it to my specific patch. The wah sound is fantastic and can be move pre or post for gritty rock or clean funk.
Ease of Use
easy for me to get great sounds but I can program midi, do sequencing and have run semi techical live sound and recording consoles. I suspect the learning curve on this thing is a bit steep for a lot of people. If you're not real smart about reading manuals and understanding terminology you might lose practice time fiddling with this board. Perhaps you should look for something more simple like the Boss ME-70. That said, the sound quality and fast patch switching is miles ahead of the ME-70 and others in this catagory.
Quality
Seems well made and heavy. Stays in place where I put it. All the knobs are firm with micro detents so they don't move unless you mean to move them and that's good. Stomp switches are just firm enough that you have confidence when you step on them. I can feel them under my shoe sole and the press when ready and know for sure it reacted as I intended. Also very good. Even the On/Off switch is located where it won't likely get bumped and even then it's very firm to prevent accidental shut off. The the pedal tensions are adjustable but not quite firm enough for my preference. Don't loosen the tension screws too much. manual warns of them falling out. I like a firmer volume pedal so I can land my foot a little before changing the volume. I'll get used to it though.
Value
Well worth the price.
Manufacturer Support
Never contacted. It's my understanding that Zoom is accosiated with Samson and that Samson is; the son of Sam Ash. I've had several Zoom guitar effects pedals and they seem to hold up well enough compared to other brands. My old 505 (15 years) and GFX-1 (8 years or so) still work fine. Used them every weekend for several years each and still get them out once in a while.
The Wow Factor
I'm into practical functionality. Intuitively thought out and functions well.

I will probably use this product until it dies. It's well built and very versitile in sounds for every genre.
Sound
It has awsome sound, but a little overwhlmin with all the settings it has. It takes some time to get the sound your looking for.(To get it dialed in).
Features
With it coming with cubase le5 was a great thing. Still learning how to use it, but I think it might be better than what I'm currently using(acid pro7). It has more sounds than I will probably ever use.
Ease of Use
I'd have to say read the manual, then read it again. I find myself referring to it all the time. I've only had the product for a couple of months and I found the patch softare that helps alot for programing and sharing.
Quality
This is a very solid product. I would not have a problem taking this to live shows. It's built like a tank.
Value
I'm glad I made the purchase. Well worth it.
Manufacturer Support

The Wow Factor

"Comparison to Boss GT-8"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
For the money, this product delivers a lot of bang for the buck. Use it to produce your next budget CD release.
Sound
This unit give you a lot of bang for the buck. The EQ is very expressive, more so than the Boss GT-8 (which I sold when I got this), but that is probably due to the REAL TUBES in the Zoom. The reverbs are not so hot, but I'm still dialing those in and, while not bad, I'm still searching....(you gear heads know where I'm at on that....Will I ever reach Nirvanna?) The Distortions blow the GT-8 completely out of the picture. I owned a GT-8 and you just cannot beat REAL TUBES for "breathing" speakers and the "UMPH" of getting hit in the gut with a sonic bottom end. This is where the Zoom outshines the GT-8 IMHO. But, remember, this unit is not an Orange or a Marshall Major.
Features
The Z pedal feature is great. Two effect parameters controlled independently with the same foot controller. A boost switch would have been nice for each preset like the GT-8, but alas....
Ease of Use
The manual is too small. Also, it doesn't tell you how to replace the tubes once they go.
Quality
Pretty well built.
Value
This unit is well within its price range. While it isn't a rocktron prophecy, neither does it cost as much.
Manufacturer Support

The Wow Factor
This unit is very fashionable.

Overall, I dig it man. It has everything that I could think of that I wanted in a pedal, plus some.
Sound
This thing sounds great, really easy to dial it in.
Features
I think best thing about this unit is the ability to control so many different parameters of effects, and other parts of the sound, with the foot pedals. You can layer effects on each of the three(2+z-pedal) pedals, it gives you alot of possibilty for subtle changes.
Ease of Use
A 7 year old can do it, 'nuf said.
Quality
It's built tough and looks like it came from a space ship.

"its quite amazing"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
i came from the boss gt10 to this and wow it was an intense improvement. don't get me wrong, the gt10 an awesome piece of hardware, but fore the sound i was looking for, the zoom surpasses it by a longshot. a couple features i liked got sacrificed, but all in all i am veryyyy satisifed.
Sound
it sounds superb with the tubes helping to accentuate the tubes in my valveking. a lot of the preamps i was kind of iffy of at first because of scratchiness and it sounded kind of "distant", but once they are eq'd it improves the sound quality by a bunch and ive got a tone that everyone in the band likes a whole lot better :P
Features
features features features, its got loads of stuff :P current setup is a nice consistent delay (right pedal raised adds more feedback so itll last longerrrr) a super fast trem for mod 1 and an air-raid siren-esque flanger on mod2 :P i play metal so i have a deizel drive with full tone and 80 gain lots of lows, negative on the mids, and mid on the highs... i do however miss the ability to change literally any parameter with the pedals on the gt10 :/ the changeable parameters are very limited when compared, like for instance i was able to set the delay time with the pedal to any number of ms and fluctuate it as i wanted with the gt10 and on the zoom all you can adjust is feedback amount and mix... but i can deal :P
Ease of Use
it kinda has a bit of a learning curve but no too too much, i found myself going for the preamp knobs when trying to change a setting in the mod of delay or some other feature and it would kick me out of what i was doing and take me to the preamp section :P and with the eq, the low mid high and presence is with those knobs, but the low-mid and harmonics is under the display.. kind of awkward... but i was able to adjust quickly.. i do like that its a "smart" system to where the save/swap button will be lit if changes were made and if you happen to dial them back to what the were originally it will go out.. nifty feature no doubt
Quality
this thing is a tank! i didnt have it before my bands last gig before a temp show hiatus to write write write so i didnt get to run it through its courses of dancing kids and eccentric bandmates :P
Value
i think it was a steal at 300 bones.. coupled with cubase, its twice what it sells for easily...
Manufacturer Support
i had heard of zoom before but never used their gear, i can say now that i am a fan indeed and look forward to seeing what else they cook up as a follow-up flagship processor
The Wow Factor
it looks beast for one haha my other guitarist looked at it and went "that thing looks intimidating" so i figure that can sum up everything about the wow factor, and the fact that i lent him my boss gt10 which is valued at 200 dollars more in price.

This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
My goal is to learn this unit inside and out. I'm done trying to buy old amps or new high priced imitations. Much cheaper and less nerve racking with the Zoom.
Sound
I'm running mine through the output(only) of a Mesa Trem-o-Verb( Dual Rectifier). Four EL34s. Then out to my late 70s Marshall 4 X 12 Slant cab with the original, and well worn,Celestions of that time period. So, I'm getting a pretty good dose of what the Zoom offers as a preamp. And it's very good. The Amp and Effects sound great! Most are usable with only a minor tweak here or there. Not the crazy over the top presets that You usually get.It CAN get CRAZY but it's also very usable with a few adjustments too.
Features
There's plenty of old fashioned knobs to tweak or You can go deep, deep, deeper.
Ease of Use
Match the output level and the preamp tube /solid state levels and You're off and jammimg.
Quality
This thing's a Freakin' Tank! No Lie!
Value

Though I haven't used it for very long, I don't see replacing it with any other product.
Sound
My wife purchased the G92TT for me as a fathers day gift and I am still discovering combinations using it along with both my LP studio as well as my Strat. A bargain for the price.
Features
I would like to have received a fitted hardshell case and a DVD for setup.
Ease of Use
It's taking me a while to catch on, I think that will become easier with practice.
Quality
Seems very sturdy, I don't think I will have any problems anytime soon. My main concern is the possibility of damage from falling or transportation.

"Superior smooth overdrive and metal distortion sounds and better price."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
My search for a suitable amp modeler has ended thanks to this product. I'm glad I bought it, and if it fried I would cry and then save up for a new one. What I least like about it is the range of the wah effects, but I patch in a different wah pedal through the Zoom effects loop anyway, so no big deal.
Sound
I play it through home studio monitors and it sounds awesome. I was using a BOSS ME-25 for a bit and found the Zoom unit to have much better preamp sounds with much more headroom for tweak-ability. The tubes, give it a nice smooth distortion that does not sound digital-like. I actually own a Dual Rectifier and was pleased with Zoom's modeling of this particular amp.
Features
I use it for home recording so the USB connectivity is great. I monitor the sound directly from the unit.
Ease of Use
The patch interface is easy relative to other modeling multi-effects. It can be as complicated as you want it to be.
Quality
well built, solid construction, torque on pedals is fully adjustable
Value
There are bigger names for multi-effects, and I have tinkered with a lot of different units. I think the Zoom is the best I have heard and used. The price is very low compared to the superior sound quality

"Absolutely Awesome"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

I've been reading the reviews and there's something wrongly conceived. I've read you can control 2 parameters with the two expression pedals. That's absolutely wrong. You can control up to 4 parameters with each of the 3 expression pedals. That's 12 different parameters from any module. That is beautiful. The rest is the same: excellent sound, quality and features.

"Awesome box. Love the features!!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
G9.2TT is a really great pedal. I have a POD X3Live too, but I like the sound of the Zoom so much more than that other one. It is built way better than the POD X3Live imo.
Sound
Excellent sound. TBH I had a fun time dialing in and clearing up the gain. I was using it wrong. The guide didn't go much into detail on "how's" in setting it up. Some guys at stombox forum said mfx company had DVD on using this. I thought, ok. If you have or want the g9.2tt or zoom pedals get the DVD. I didn't know diddly what most of the effects were until I watched. They do a good job with examples. Tough part for me was getting the tube features right. Its easier now that I understand it more than I did. I was using cab sim with my rig which was a no no. Use the cab sim when you don't have a guitar cabinet. Or you can use it when you run the pedal to a pa system. On the DVD it said don't slam the gain so much and use the tube controls with your gain. Now I get it, and it sound really good.
Features
My favorit is the pedal with horizontal and vertical movement. Learn how to use that and OMG is it nice! It has an effects loop. You have to add that in per patch. It's not global, but I can see why it'snot. Because you can use a different stomp with it. Maybe the other patches you won't want the stomp. Makes sense that way. This comes with a good GUI support editor for the PC. Comes with Cubase LE for recording. Nice. The next thing I compared to my POD was the pitch tracking. The G9.2TT kills the other pedal there imo.
Ease of Use
Wasn't easy at first. I didn't really know what I was doing. The tube things have to work together with your presets. I use a bank of a few sounds. I keep my gains within the tube settings. That works so much better. There's a learning curve. Get the G9 MFX DVD if you want to make things easy. Its better than the manual. I use a MIM Strat and an Epiphone custom LP with mine. Each guitar does have it's own sound still. That is one part I like about it.
Quality
I heard some forum users say something about the switches. Mine have been fine so I think its built well. I can't say for other users. They might have heavier feet lol.
Value
It's worth it.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to use the support. The website is good though.
The Wow Factor
The G9.2TT looks cool. Has some cool features like A and B channels per preset. Very practical. Simple to control.

This thing has 2 12ax7's! not one like the vox tonelab se, but 2!! you can combine the tube warmth and solidstate clarity to get the most incredible buttery counds possible! its no question of the sound quality of this thing, itll blow you away!
Features
this thing has more gizmos than the podxt live and sounds twice as good! why model tube amps and effects when you can get REAL tube amps and effects? also the dual axis pedal is awsome, you can control wah and stereo panning with one pedal, and volume with the other at the same time! woah!
Ease of Use
this thing is very straight forward, if you are a seasoned guitarist it might take a matter of 10-20 minutes to start setting up some awsome sounds!

"Don't hesitate to buy it...You won't regret it."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)

I don't think I'll need to buy an effects pedal for a long time. The 92TT covers most all of the bases. When connected to a very clean amp(the Peavey Backstage Chorus 200 is my amp of choice, since it has such a crystal clear sound), the amp simulators really shine. My poor Peavey can now sound like some of the nastiest amps every produced. The Zoom definitely extended the life of my Backstage Chorus amp. If you are using a solid-state amp, this is definitely the right pedal for you. If you're using a tube amp, this is still the best multieffects pedal on the block.
Sound
The sounds produced by this stomp-box are top notch. The ability to layer in real tube sounds with solid state amplification is amazing. YOu can really make any amp sound 100% better with this. I'm highly impressed with the distortion modules, also. I own an Electro-Harmonix Big Muff PI, and the Big muff simulator on the G92TT sounds exactly the same. Recording guitar parts using the Zoom's cabinet simulator is a blast. This is really one nice sounding multi-effects pedal
Features
This is one feature-packed effects pedal. I would have given this pedal a 10 for features, but the included Cubase LE package is pretty worthless. It only supports recording via your computer's USB interface, and I experienced severe signal lag while trying to record parts. The ASIO driver included with Cubase is supposed to fix this sync problem, but it didn't make a difference at all. I am recording on a top-of-the-line Athlon X2 with 2gb of memory and a raid array---I can record from the mic jack with practically zero lag, and I can record from USB headsets with no problems. This appears to be a problem with either the USB connection on the Zoom, or with the Cubase software itself. But, I can still record via the 1/4 jack, so it's not a big deal.
Ease of Use
There is a learning curve to this pedal. It took me about a week and a half to get comfortable with all of the options that are available. Once you learn the system, you will really appreciate the way this pedal is put together.
Quality
This thing is a tank. My Big Muff PI is built like a Russian tank, so I've always been a bit spoiled when it comes to stomp boxes. The Zoom 92TT can take some pretty heavy abuse, and it is the heaviest and sturdiest multieffects pedal I've ever seen. The build quality is excellent.
Value
The zoom is great bang for your buck. If you tried to buy all of the gear that this box emulates, you could easily run up a bill of $15-20,000. That's a bargain.
Manufacturer Support
I have not had any reason to call support.
The Wow Factor
This is the best looking Zoom product ever. That isn't really saying a lot, since they used to make utilitarian stompboxes in the past (The cheesy but useful 505, for example). The build quality is excellent, and the pedal is very nice looking.

"STEAL THIS PEDAL!!!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
If it had Tremelo I would say this is the perfect multi-effect pedal. Otherwise it is a great piece to have.
Sound
It will do just about everything you want. The sound is whatever you want it to be. It is clean and has no added noise that can come with some stomp boxes. The sound is very expressive and bold. I can play in just about any style i so desire. the flange is exactly what i was looking for and you can choose a multitude of distortions and reverbs. You can mix and match sounds with very little effort. if you have other pedals that you just can't part with(i.e. I have the Dan Electro sitar swami and I can't part with it's awesomeness)put it out going. If you try to run them before the Zoom the effects will get lost when you activate a channel. Sounds awesome live. In the manual it tells you how to set different style of amps for maximum effectiveness. Sounds perfect on recordings and is a great companion on the stage. The tube adjustments mean everything. Make sure you pay attention to the proper setting in the manual.
Features
I would give it a 10 but it lacks one important effect. There is no tremolo. One would think with nearly two hundred settings they would have put that in there but no.Other than that it is pretty awesome. You can set up to 10 different user banks x 5 foot switches and two channels each switch. You will never need all of this but I guess it's better to have it and not need than need it and not have it. There are a lot of Presets for Metalica, Nirvana, Zach Wylde etc. So if you wanted to play one of their songs or just adapt their style they have the settings to make your guitar sound just like theirs. Having both pedals (Volume and 3D Wah)is very convenient. If your a Wah nut then you might not want to throw out your Cry Baby. It's good but not great. The 3D effect is pretty sweet. I use it maybe to much but I like it.
Ease of Use
I was a little intimidated at first when trying to set it up but quickly found it easy make selections and adjustments. The only advice I would give in this category is pay attention to your bank when your on stage. I get a little to into the music sometimes and stomp the bank switch and end up on a completely different effect list.
Quality
Made of strong steel and has a bit of weight on it. So you can go pretty crazy on it and not worry to much about breaking it or kicking it off the stage.
Value
You cannot beat it for the price. I would have paid upwards of Five Hundred dollars for this unit.... But i didn't.
Manufacturer Support
No need just yet.
The Wow Factor
Every body asks me about it when we play shows. It's a nice Blue and chrome so it won't look like a gigantic hunk of crap sitting at your feet.

"An All-Around Great Modeling Pedal"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Overall, it's a great pedal. Just what I was looking for.
Sound
Sounds pretty realistic, it just hisses a little bit. The noise gate cuts out the hiss but when you start to play, it comes back.
Features
Has a whole bunch of different famous models of amps and effects that sound realists. The one parameter pedal with the two parameter pedal is really great, and it has two tubes in it. The only thing I wish it came with was the USB cable to connect it to the computer.
Ease of Use
It's easy to get started making great sounds!
Quality
Perfect.
Value
It's a good deal considering all the stuff it does.
Manufacturer Support
I'm going to give a five on support because it doesn't say anywhere in the manual what kind of USB cable you need to connect it to the computer. You can, however, download the manual from their website so that's why I didn't give them a one.
The Wow Factor
It's pretty hot.

"One great awesome piece of equipment that is unbeatable at a great price!!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I plan to keep the G9.2tt as long as I can until it wears out or if Zoom comes out with a new one that far excedes this one. If I ever lost or if it was stolen I would buy another one to replace it as soon as possible. I just wished that it had a drum machine on it as well. Which would probably be the one thing that I would try to come up with and change on it if I could.
Sound
The sound from the G9.2tt far excedes my expectations! Not only in sound but as to what you can accomplish with it. I get the hard core sounds of metal and rock as well as the smooth classical and melodic as well. I hook this up to a berhinger LX210 amp and it produces so much more sound then I could ever dream possible. Even when I just have it plugged in through my head phones it sounds great. Far beats any pedal and effects proccessor that I have bought in the past. I get every sound that I know from any music group out there and more! I have yet to try to record with it just yet but I'm betting that it sounds awesome once I do. I only had this proccessor for about 2 weeks now and I have yet to come up with anything to change on it yet.
Features
The thing that I think is the best feature is the 3D pedal that it has. You can modify the sounds with this feature which is great for that extra kick that I was looking for. The only thing that I wish the G9.2tt had is rhythm drums. Other than that it would be that perfect stomp box ever to come out.
Ease of Use
The sounds that I got out of it is for songs that I love to play. From Satriani to Metallica, even Ozzy and Van Halen sounds that are exactly like they do which is great! I did have to read the manual to learn what every thing does and how to get the sounds that I was looking for, but the manual was easy to understand which was very helpful. I have it hooked up to an Ibanez S series guitar and get the sounds that I have been looking for for a very long time. At least now I can finally stop looking!
Quality
Surprizingly the G9.2tt is very well put together. I have yet to have anything break on me yet. The finish on it is amazing! If I was to take it on the road I would have no worries about it breaking. Even through I would probably have it protected in a hard case, just in case. I figured that this product would last as long as I take care of it. In my case a very long time.
Value
I'm surprized that it was selling for $400 at the time and after reading about it and watching the videos I knew that I had to get one.
Manufacturer Support
I have yet to need any service of this model just yet, but I'm thinking that if it ever comes to that they would pretty much help in any way possible. I did register it online for the warranty in case I do need their help.
The Wow Factor
Just by looking at it, and seeing all the bells and whistles that it has to offer, is what sold me on this product. I knew that I had to buy one as soon as I could. Who ever came up with this idea and design was a genius!

"Mediocre Unit"

Overall: 2.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I'm not satisfied at all with this unit. My 6 year old Vox unit sounds a whole lot better. I'll probably unload this unit fairly quickly.
Sound
I own Boss GT Pro Rack multi-effects unit and it blows the doors off the Zoom G92TT unit. This unit is definitely for a first-time buyer. I don't know why I bought it.
Features
Lots of features. Too bad they suck!
Ease of Use
Control setup is kind of awkward compared to other units.
Quality
The unit is heavy... Don't necessarily believe that makes it well made like other reviewers think. The selection knobs are really touchy and sometimes they won't hold the settings I dial in.
Value
If you're looking for a unit that does a lot of stuff, yeah, it's worth the price I paid. If you're looking for a unit that does a lot of stuff good, buy something else. Some of the sounds that come out of this unit are painful.
Manufacturer Support
Gave this a five cuz I have no experience with customer service.
The Wow Factor
Again, it depends on what you want from the unit. If you're just starting out in a band and want something that LOOKS sexy, get this unit. If you're only interested in the quality of sound, get something else.

this pedal sounds great, tons of features, relatively easy layout. the tubes add some warmth, the twin pedals with z feature are awesome. there's a few weaknesses like midi only for updates and tweaking, usb only does recording interface. the wahs are a bit shallow, cant seem to get enough range. some of the buttons can only be assigned certain sounds or functions. over all, i love it and for the money, it blows everything else away!

I've got this unit about 2 months ago.
Sound
The distortion sound coming out of this baby is awsome, has a lot of features and looks really good.
Features
The bad thing about this unit is that has 200 preset channels wich only 100 of them can be tweaked. To me this is a total waste if you are playing in a cover band.
Ease of Use
In order to use the software included with your PC, you will need to spend another 50 - 70 dls in a MIDI - USB cable. It has a USB port wich can be use only to hear the mix the sound between your PC and the pedal. No Tweaking allowed if you don't have the MIDI_USB cable.
Quality
Is good, although the horizontal pedal seems to be kind of fragile.
Value
Average value compared to other similar products on the market.
The Wow Factor
Very good looking unit - solid

"Best tube tone on the market at the best price!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
If it were lost or stolen I`d have to get another one. It`s the best sounding pedal out there.
Sound
If you are looking for the ultimate tube tone, this baby has it! Very responsive! Sounds great through my Line6 stack and also straight to the board. I`m like many other guitarists, forever searching for that special tube tone. Let me tell you, this is as close as you will get without spending thousands. I own a Boss GT10 and this G9.2tt puts it to shame as far as tube tone and crunch. I must say that the GT10 does have it beat on clean sounds but, not by far. It`s very easy to set up your own sounds with Zoom`s free download editor. I use it mainly with my Les Paul. A great Rock or Blues combination. The EFX are top notch and more than anyone will ever use.
Features
The most useful features are the two pedals plus the Z pedal.I have mine set up as Pedal A-Volume/Wah, Pedal B-EFX. like harmony, delay chorus, whatever I choose to assign to it.
Ease of Use
Easy with the Software.
Quality
Built like a tank!
Value
Well worth the price!

"Amateur Modelling At Best"

Overall: 1.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I took a gamble on this product because of the positive reviews I read online. Huge, $300.00 mistake! I gotta give Zoom an A+ for bells and whistles on this thing, as it has every effect known to mankind, as well as the ability to adjust them. After listening to the factory installed presets, I found them to be impractical, thin and over processed. The presets are ideal for a beginer who likes making racket to compensate for lack of ability. The main thing I hate about this pedal is the thin, cheap, overprocessed sound it produces. Even with all the adjustments this thing has, it is impossible for someone who is accustomed to the sound of a real tube amp to ever find satisfaction with this thing. the 2-12ax7 preamp tubes are hardly an adequate replacement for EL34's, or 6L6's. Now, you might be thinking that I shouldn't expect a tube amp sound out of semi-solid state modelling pedal, but this pedal is designed and advertised to replicate numerous tube amps, and since these things have been around for 20+ years, they should have something close by now. The selector stomp buttons are too close to one another and you're going to be frustrated when in the middle of a performance you're trying desperately to escape from a patch you accidentally stomped your way into. On the upside, it's built like a tank, with all steel construction. It's heavy and unlikely to move around on the floor while in use. But If you're a serious guitarist who takes pride in your sound, don't waste your money. If you like to spend a lot of money to sound like crap, then this is the perfect pedal for you.

"No Amp Necessary!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Sound
Even the presets sound good, when does that ever happen. I've tried every other system out there and only the VOX comes close to the sound quality. Distortion is full bodied and easy to work with in a mix. Doesn't sound muffled like the Roland, or Line6 products. I never use a guitar amp, either live or recording. With this I don't have to feel like I'm sacrificing a thing.
Features
Very well laid out and easy to use. Very easy to make patch changes quickly. Better yet you can download and editor from Zooms website and tweak all your effects like they were stompboxes on the computer screen. You can set multiple parameters on the z pedal, one handy one is to have the volume decrease as you turn up the feedback on the echo, it helps keep the volume level
Ease of Use
Covered that in features. This thing was extremely easy to get the sounds I wanted dialed in. Of course it helps that it sounds good out of the box.
Quality
Built like a tank, I'd be more worried about dropping it on someone and killing them. You can back it up via midi with the downloadable editor librarian.
Value
Increadable functionality for the price. More full featured than the VOX and better value than the Boss GT-Pro where your at the 700 price point before you can get a librarian.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to use their support
The Wow Factor

"Arsenal of sound at the tip of your toes."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Overall this Zoom pedal gets a nine for the lack of a loop and plastic constuction on a mechanical part. If it were'nt for those two thigs it would have a ten.
Sound
The tone that comes out of this multi-pedal is awesome. Using this pedal is like having an arsenal of classic guitar amps at your disposal. I play a hardcore style the requires a tight low end amp such as a Krank or a Mesa boogie and believe me it's in there. This thing has an array of effects that would probably cost three times what this thing costs. you name it it's got it. One of my favorite features is the ZNR noise gate. when you want clean noiseless stops you'll have them with this pedal. One of the modulation effects I use most is a chorus and I love the sound of the chorus in this unit. If you want or need an array of effects and you don't want to have to do the pedal dance, take the time to preset this thing and you'll be the envy of all your guitar playing buddies. This thing sounds killer!!!!
Features
You name it this thing has it. The only thing I would like to see added is a loop phraser and maybe a couple drum beats. But lets face it when too much stuff gets crammed into one device the quality usually drops. MANY FEATURES!!!!
Ease of Use
I gave the ease of use a seven because I hate reading manuals. take the time to read the manual and you will probably figure out half of what this thing can do. So if you want top ease of use you probably would prefer seperate pedals for ease of setup. But for ease of use,"changing effects while playing guitar," this thing rules.
Quality
This thing seems to be built like a tank other than a plastic piece the locks the rotator on the right pedal. this piece broke a week after I purchased it. Other tha that it seems pretty tough. Zzounds made good on it.
Value
A lot of sound for the buck.
Manufacturer Support
When I had a piece break on it Zzounds quicly solved the problem.
The Wow Factor
If a multi effects can be considered sexxy this could be compared to Catherine Zeta Jones!!!

I Have not had it very long yet(about 3 weeks) so it is hard for me to give a final review. I will say so far so good but the lack of cabinet modeling (which I did not realize before I bought it) will probably drive me to look at other units since I primarily play through a PA system. The sound you can achieve is limited by this.
Sound
Sound is pretty good but lack of cabinet modeling is a serious shortcoming. This unit has a single cabinet model that can be adjusted slightly but I believe other units have many cabinets to choose from.
Features
3D pedal is cool but I personally don't have much use for it.
Ease of Use
Many of the controls and adjustments are found in obscure locations and are difficult to find in the menus or to know which knobs do what.
Quality
Very nicely made. Seems solid, durable and reliable.
Value
Price is less than comarable MFX pedals but I am not experienced with many others to know if they are better.
Manufacturer Support
No opinion.
The Wow Factor
Looks really cool and very nice.

"Workhorse for Rock"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Besides the fact that I am constantly searching for that "perfect" sound (i know its in the pedal somewhere) which can take a lot of time, this thing really rocks. More effects than you'll need, and great range of sound in the pre-amps.
Sound
High quality output on most pre-amp settings. A few still sound a bit lacking, but with correct EQ manipulation you can dial in just about any amp you want. Be sure that you are very happy with the clean channel on your amp, because when combined with the wide range of distortions on this pedal, it sounds amazing.
Features
You can control every aspect of your sound.
Ease of Use
A bit of a learning curve on this pedal, but once you get the hang of it, and fiddle around enough it becomes fairly easy.
Quality
Built very well. No problems yet (after 2 months).
Value
Basically you can take a good clean channel of ANY amp (a $200 or $2000 amp) and turn it into whatever your heart and ears desire. Thats a pretty damn good deal. The tubes add a lot of heart to the sound, making this just about the cheapest high quality processor on the market
Manufacturer Support
Haven't contacted them.
The Wow Factor
Overall, just great to use and look at. Works well on stage, the 3D pedal is pretty tight.

Zoom G9.2TT Twin Tube Customer Review

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This is one amazing product. I wish everyone that is or will be looking at it could test it for themselves. I highly recommend this for the people that like to use processors like the POD systems.
Sound
The sound is amazing. Even though I have never owned a nice pedal set or proccessor before, I have heard and used them. I have a pretty bad amp and it still sounds amazing. I have yet to use it for live sound, so I can't comment on that yet.
Features
The tubes are great, the two pedals with the 3-D pedal is cool, and the multiple pre-amps with the addition of from the effects are fun to mess around with.
Ease of Use
It takes a few days to understand how everything works, but it's pretty staight forward. If you understand what everything means, you should be able to edit your effects quickly, but if you don't, you might have to study the manual before you use it.
Quality
If you are looking for the nicest, you should look over some others, but I recommend this to the people that can't afford to buy the individual effects. I'm sure I could drop this everytime I pick it up and it would still stay unscratched. It looks and is very well built.
Value
For the amount of money you spend, it is the best your going to get. I don't know how they could afford to sell it at the price they are.
Manufacturer Support
I have never had to use their customer support, but the updates and downloads on their website are very easy to find and use.
The Wow Factor
It looks great with the crome and black. The knobs and lit up select buttons just make it look even cooler.

Zoom G9.2TT Twin Tube Customer Review

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Its $400. Some people act like it should literally sound like all of the amps it imitates.
Sound
First of all I'd like to say that I'm not your average kid reviewing stuff that that i wouldn't have a clue about anyway. I've been playing guitar for 22 years & i'm only 25. I'm currently a session musician and ive worked with people that you probably only read about. with that said lets get started. If you know how to use it it sounds great. Its not something you would just want to throw in front of your amp, although it can be done. being that it acually is a preamp it should be used that way for optimum tone.(layering preamp can also be noisy). the tubes can be a fine tool (if you know how to use them). there positioning in relation to the preamp makes them both act different. in conjunction with the compressor they can also cause major unwanted clipping in your signal. the effects sound very good to me. i wouldn't say high-end but as good as the mid range effects that are so popular. I like the amp models. You might hate them but as i said its all how you use it and most people have know idea.
Features
I will say I agree with what one guy wrote, they were very misleading about the 10 effects at once deal. But you would probably have to be on acid to want to do that. great features. of my favorites is being able to digitally place effects before or after the preamp. & switches to control your output level (saves equipment especially for those who like it in front of there preamp).
Ease of Use
Simple. it took me 2 hours to have it figured out. I've owned rack mount processors and never figured everything out.
Quality
no problems with it.
Value
$400 isn't much for what you get.
The Wow Factor
of course its a cool toy.

I just wasn't satisfied with this product and incredibly disappointed. I've never returned anything -in my life-, but I could barely find a use for this pedal. It simply wasn't what I wanted, and because of the great amount I spent on it, I just had to trade it in. Yesterday I bought the Boss GT8 and I have to say that it's EXACTLY what I was looking for, and I'm 100% satisfied with that. Some prefer ZOOM, some BOSS, but know which person you are before purchasing this. They cater to different preferences.
Sound
This is NOT a pedal for everyone. It was between this one and the Boss GT8; I love my Roland keyboard (the company that owns Boss)--but due to reviews on this site I decided to get this one--especially when one reviewer said he traded his Boss in for this. Boy was that a mistake. The "realistic distortion and overdrive" from the tubes--and maybe it's just my preference--sounded awful to me. Maybe for metal someone would appreciate it more, but in my style of music it sounded -worse- than a digitalized distortion. Nearly every patch sounds similar (there are probably five variations with few exceptions). This console is almost entirely a pre-amp and in my opinion, the sound for any of the amps were woefully unsatisfactory.
Features
"Maximum simultaneous effects: 10" This statement is incredibly mis-leading. This is a -multi effects- pedal. But can you stack a tremelo, flanger, and chorus all on top of each other? No. Zoom is counting "Pre-amp" as an effect along with compression, wah--hell even the effects loop is counted as an effect. In the end you only get two FX channels, which wouldn't be a problem (The GT8 also only has two), except that unlike the GT8, basic effects like Chorus aren't on their own channel. In fact, on the first FX channel there isn't even a normal flanger (nor a chorus), so therefore you can't even have a chorus and a flanger going on at the same time! (Although there is an effect in the first FX channel called "X-Flanger" that I found useless. It sounds god-awful.) Most of the effects are redundant for use. Pitch shifters galore, but when it comes to actually wanting to shape my sound, the options here were very limited. Hell I prefer the effects on my practice amp more than this!
Ease of Use
There is really no learning curve to this machine, unlike the GT8. It's very easy to pick up and you shouldn't even have to look through the very short manual to figure out how it works. Fiddle with it for an hour and you'll know everything it can do.
Quality
This thing is tough. It's made out of metal and all the buttons are firm, it also looks pretty nice (and stands out with its two pedal design).
Value
-Do your research-. This is not a pedal for everyone, but primarily best suited for those that want to pay for a certain kind of distortion and overdrive. It suits metal, noise rock, and some hard rock--but alternative, post-punk, etc. No. The effects portion of this "multi-effects pedal" is woefully sub-par for the price. You'd be better off with a few stomp boxes. Also the ZOOM sound is very distinct--test this before you buy it because you may not like it. I did not. I'm writing this review only to warn people that it's not a "sure bet" to buy this.
Manufacturer Support
I returned this after three days--and I guess it's a good thing I didn't have to call support in that time.
The Wow Factor
It seems nice enough in a "Sex appeal" category.

"This unit delivers ! The best guitar console ever!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I'm 110% satisfied and I don't need any other additional pedal. Not even an amp. I can just plug it to the mixer of the PA or recording studio. What I like most is the flexibility of this unit. I would probably like to be able to store the tube parameters in the patch but then this unit would be perfect. It doesn't need to be perfect, it's already excellent.
Sound
The sound quality is amazing. Forget individual stomp boxes which are noisy. This unit is noise free even if you use a high gain preamp module because the builtin ZOOM NOISE REDUCTION is top notch.
Features
It has 2 pedals which is very convenient for volume control and effect module control and 2 tubes which will heat up your tone. I like the ability to program your own patches and assign them to any of 5 pedals in a given bank. This way you can custom tailor your tone differently for the different riffs of your song. It's almost impossible to do this with stomp boxes.
Ease of Use
Ease of use is good. But you do have to go throught the manual in order to understand how this unit works and how to get the best sound quality out of it but that's understandable. There's a lot of effects and parameters in this unit but they aren't hard to learn. Just take your time and in a few weeks you'll master the use of this unit.
Quality
Top notch. Built like a tank and very appealing design at the same time. Black with chrome. Very nice high quality looking. Although I always handle it with care because of the tubes. But that's normal, if you want any effect unit to last you can't abuse it. I'm sure that when you get the hands on this unit you'll handle it with care as well cause it looks so nice and you don't want any scratches on it.
Value
This unit is worth more than 2000$. No kidding. Try buying each individual effect module separately and you'll see how much you'll pay. This is the best guitar pedal in the planet. Period.
Manufacturer Support
I did have a problem when I first bought my unit, one of the tubes were unplugged. I returned the unit and they sent me a brand new one! Excellent support!
The Wow Factor
This unit is very appealing for all its features - 2 pedals, 2 tubes, 9 pedals, USB & MIDI plugs and the design is excellent. It looks very nice. It does bring people's attention.
