Understanding the fundamental sounds of drums is why I chose this kit. Top quality, easy to assemble, tune and a pure pleasure to play. Our band gigs a lot, I needed a high quality kit to use on stage without breaking the bank. The Yamaha Tour Custom drum set was the perfect kit. High quality USA Maple shells top shelf hardware. Remo USA Ambassador Heads Invert Dyna Hoops allows the drummer to unbox the kit, assemble it tune it and gig. No need to change the heads, the hardware is incredibly heavy duty. Tuning is a snap, tuning high or low this kit responds. Rock, country, R&B Jazz or Blues, You can tune in the sound you need and it stays tuned. I purchased the matching 6.5x14 Tour Custom Snare about 6 months ago and it's my go to snare. I highly recommend this kit.

I just got mine yesterday. I got it in the red color and it looks even better in person. These drums sound great and they’re very easy to tune. I upgraded from an old Stage Custom kit. These drums have a warmer more punchy sound imo. I have them tuned in their lower range right now, as I’m playing rock music primarily. I was torn between these and trying DW. I was thinking about the DW performance series cause they sound great from all the videos I seen, but I liked the sound of these better from the videos i watched. I have always played Yamaha and love their sound. I am 100% happy that I decided on these. Playing a show with these tomorrow night.. super excited to see how they sound mic’d up! Get em! do it. do it. do it.

I've owned a few other sets of drums before these including the stage customs(highly recommend those!) And I have to yamaha are my favorite brand! The tour customs sound awesome! I bought a matching snare as well, and it is just amazing with the rest of the kit! The floor tom is the best one I've used yet, and the rack toms tune pretty simple and have great resonance and projection. I will be making these a permanent set in my home that I will be practicing on for years to come! They are affordable maple shells and lots of bang for your buck, especially with a payment plan, zZounds is my go to and favorite music store online! Don't hesitate to buy these, they deliver on quality and look fantastic! I got the candy red apple and they pop in my drumming room very sexy drums. The hardware on them is top notch as well, yamaha has great tom systems made with beautiful chrome. The kick drum booms and sounds awesome out of box! The toms you may want to change the heads for your preference, but they do sound good out of box too! It's a kit you can practice on, tour on, record on, whatever the needs are, Yamaha delivers rather tou choose the stage custom, or tour custom, go for it!-Tadd

I recently purchased my Yamaha Tour Custom 4 piece drum set in Candy Apple Satin from ZZounds. I am completely satisfied with the process and delivery, The drum set arrived in perfect condition and was easy to assemble. The 100% Maple kit is finished not wrapped. Not only is the Finnish beautiful it's allows the tones to sing out without being confined by a wrap. This Yamaha kit will last you a life time. Easy to tune because of how Yamaha manufacturers the drums but it also comes with Remo ambassador USA heads so a head swap is not necessary. You can't go wrong here, with high end hardware and a 10 lug bass drum. I highly recommend this drum set for recording, shows, gigs.
