Sound
This product is impeccable for the money. The product certailnly does allow to get the maximum performance and sound i am looking for. The Toms ring with gloee. I like this style, but if you don't, then you can just take the bottom skin off the toms. You MUST put a blanket in the bass drum, as this rings overbearingly (?)...
I use Sabian pro Sonix crash and ride cymbals and a Zildjian Planet Z hi-hat. These help with the loud ringing sound of the kit. i have also replaced the stock wood snare with Yamaha's 6.5 inch deep steel model, which suits the sort of music I play better than the slightly mellow sound of the wooden snare. This, again, is down to personal choice.
Features
All of the components were Yamah's own brand, with only 3 minor niggles. 1)the bass pedal was of a lower spec than the high hat pedal, 2) it only came with 1 straight stand, and 3) my shop did not supply it with a drum key. I bought a boom stand with the kit. These are really very minor niggles and shouldn't affect your choice when purchasing.
Quality
This kit is very solid and appears well put together. All of the showing parts of wood are varnished and the Royal blue finish (which looks purple in some light and light blue in others). The only thing that robs this kit of a 10 is the slightly cheap peice of royal blue card running around the bass drum (on the outer wooden rim parts, the actual drum itself is painted).
Value
This was the best kit for the money and I was very pleased.
Manufacturer Support
I have not had to deal with Yamaha, which is a testament to this kits strength and build quality. all of the upgrades I have made were simple things and easily done.
The Wow Factor
Yamaha isn't quite as charismatic as Ludwig or Gretsch but the colour is great and the finish etc. is very good
Musical Style:
Alternative (Grunge i.e. Soundgarden)

Yamaha Rydeen Drum Kit Customer Review
Sound
These drums have a suprisingly good sound. I worked in a music shop for several years and sold many of these kits. With a little tuning, they will give a very nice, professional drum sound. No one would mistake them for an entry level kit unless they knew looked at the price tag.
Features
The hardware is very well made. The included cymbals are crap.
Quality
It's yamaha......very well made. Heavy duty hardware.
