I bought a keyboard last year and so far I've just been using one of those basic X style stands, however those are really only good if you stand while you play. It wasn't able to go low enough for a comfortable seated position. Plus I was looking for something a bit nicer quality and more stage-ready. After looking at a bunch of options this one seemed to fit the bill and I'm glad to say it met all my expectations. Quality-wise it actually turned out to be nicer than what I was expecting. It's actually a bit bulkier than it looks in the pics and definitely seems sturdy enough where I could trust it on stage and holding up after bringing it to and from gigs. The height range is also great and can be adjusted for comfortable seated or standing positions. Overall I'd say it was a worthwhile purchase.

Quality and features should be directly parallel to the price you pay. In this case, although I am sure there are fancier and heavier stands out there, this unit is a nice find for this price.
Ease of Use
Simple assembly. Good portability.
Quality
Very good quality vs price.
Value

For stand that is easy to store and transport, this stand works. A Z-stand of course provides better clearance for sitting than does an X-style stand, which is the reason I picked this one - and the price is reasonable for the task - supporting a 32 key MIDI controller. It also works well under an 88 key piano board, but when things get dynamic, it is not as solid as something like an On-Stage or ProLine, which both have two cross-members between the uprights. Some universal second tier kits might work with this stand, but I'm not confident any of them would work. For a two-tier arrangement, it does work to nest this stand behind another board using the same stand.
