"I'd recommend this product. It's overall value to the price far outways my volume preference."

The sound quality of the all the instrument voices is the absolute best I've heard in relation to comparable models.
Sound
The sound of the instruments is awesome. Have owned other keyboards and thier sound quality is not even in the same league as the DGX500. Would have rated a 10, but the sound volume is lacking when playing in piano mode, especially when playing with accompanyment. The volume almost has to be set at maximum, and accompanyment's volume has to be reduced by almost 50 percent in order to hear what your playing. All other instrument voices play at acceptable levels. If not for this, would have given it a 10.
Features
For the price, have not found anything that can beat it.
Quality
Well made and sturdy. Especially like the solid stand. Mine is setting on plush carpet, and it's solid as a rock when playing...and I like to bang away pretty hard.
Value
Yes.
Manufacturer Support
Have not talked with customer service. Visited Yamaha's web, and Yamahapkclub, and support appears to be very good. Downloaded some of the free stuff with not problems.
The Wow Factor
Looks great in my living room!

Hi,its Ethan I. from you tube, buying this keybaord was the best thing I ever did! it provides me with hundreds of hours (literly)and i made about 50 songs in two years time. It has an unbelievable amount of voices, and i'm not talking about the ones it provides you originally, but the ones you can make by editing the pitch, sound, volume, harmony,DSP,and reverb. All options this awesome keyboard. Editing the voices I found a new variety almost every day!! and with over 600 voices, that's a lot to play with! I loved this keyboard so much I even wrote an essay on it! And when you make a song with a style from the keyboard you can actually go farther up & down with the pitch (on a disk (floppy) ,if you have one) than when its on the keyboard it self! I Strongly STRONGLY recommend this keyboard for you!!!!! Check it out here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTQxVx-Gx0M and here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrARa8nJzBg

The ability to go on the internet, download songs onto a floppy, and then load them onto the hard drive just blows my mind.

"Avoid if possible. It could be better, but I have used much worse."

Sound
The sound was a disappointment to me. It lacked a real piano quality, while it focused on too many non-piano items. Instead of doing one thing well, this model does a lot of things ok.
