"A LONG TIME LOVE AFFAIR"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I will most likely keep this guitar a long time, I have already had it over 7 years. I have looked at others Taylors, Larivees , Martins,Godins, and others, however with the prices and with the playability and style and shape of this guitar the next guitar in this style would have to be pretty special
Sound
Great guitar for recording. Cut away gives ease of access for top notes which come off both clean and expressive. As an accoustic guitar the enlarged sound hole compensates for the thin body of the guitar, however do not expect a dreadnaught sound as after all this is not the intent of the instrument.
Features
The guitar has a an equalizer that works very well in consideration of the price point. A built in tuner would have been a good idea.
Quality
In every way fit and finish are second to none. This is a great looking instrument and quality in the asembly is apparent. A great road guitar as it is quite a bit thinner than a regular accoustic guitar.
Value
Well worth the selling price . It plays beyond its relative worth.
Manufacturer Support
Never had to. No problems.
The Wow Factor
Very sexy looking instrument no question about it.

"For the $$$, this axe is all you'll ever need in an acoustic/electric guitar."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I've had it for 4 years and it stills handles all my acoustic/electric guitar needs perfectly.
Sound
The acoustic sound is fine for solo or duo work, but not big enough for acoustic band work due to the thin body. This is a very small problem because the electric sound is incredible. Clean, big, versatile and dynamic. I've received tons of compliments for the sound through amps and PA systems.
Features
The EQ is a great feature and you can really boost the low end, if needed. It doesn't have a built-in tuner, but I believe too many gadgets are not necessary on an instrument.
Ease of Use
The guitar plays great and balanced. The frets could have been shaped better - they were a little sharp on the edges when I first got it. The location of the EQ directly on the top is easy to access and adjust during playing.
Quality
Yamaha makes quality instruments and for the price I can't knock this guitar at all. As I said eariler, the frets could have been shaped better.
Value
Great for the price, even if it sold for a few hundred dollars more. The black body looks very cool and professional.
Manufacturer Support
I have had no need to deal with Yamaha support for this instrument.
The Wow Factor
It does look great, but is a very practical guitar. The thin black body is a winner.

"Best guitar on the market for money spent."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Buy the same guitar.
Sound
This guitar is at its best when played through an amp. It has good ssound qualit when played as an acoustic, but the sound thins out quickly compared to other acoustics with large sound holes and full bodies. The action is without equal...even against Martin, Taylor and Guild acoustics. I took some of the edges off of the first eight frets and the action got even quicker. What a guitar for the dollars spent.
Features
This guitar presents itself well. No gimmicks or fluff needed.
Value
It's the best offered.
Manufacturer Support
I have not needed to contact the company.
The Wow Factor
It is a sexy guitar

Yamaha APX-5A Thinline Customer Review

Overall: 3.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
IT IS A GOOD PRODUCT CONSIDERINK THE COST OF IT. GREAT ACOUSTIC SOUND.WHEN PLUGED IN THOW IT COMES OUT A BIT HARD ON THE EDGES.A LOT OF BASS (A BIT BOOMY)AND IT SHORT OF SCRATCES ON TREMBLE. NOT SO COMFY ON THE NECK THOW THE ACTION CAN BE LOW ENOUGH. THE MIDS COME OUT NICE BUT IF YOU TRY TO BOOST LIFT THEM THEY COME OUT HARD. IN GENERAL IT IS GOOD FOR MID SKILL PLAYERS BUT NOT SO GOOD FOR PROFESIONAL!
