Warwick RockBass Alien Deluxe Thinline Hybrid Acoustic-Electric Bass, 5-String (with Gig Bag)

Aptly named, the Alien acoustic bass is simply out of this world! The bass' narrow body is comfortable to play, while the NanoMag pickup offers beefy tone.

The more I play this bass, the more I like it! I have set it up all low as possible but the action is still just a little higher than I would like. I like low action. ... I haven’t shaved the saddle ( not much available to shave) due to concerns with the break angle. I’ve found that the tones I can get on this bass are expansive. Really nice pu/ electronics.Highly recommended despite the bridge/ pin problems.

"Alien problem"

I purchased this bass (Warwick Rockbass Alien Deluxe Thinline 5) in March of 2020. While the overall quality is very good, I’ve encountered a fairly significant problem. This problem showed up when I was trying to swap out the strings. (I found that the factory installed Warwick red label strings that came on the bass, were very clanky when fretted and not at all to my liking.)While attempting to remove the existing strings, it was almost impossible to remove the bridge pins. ( I actually heard from a rep that he had seen a factory vid of a worker hammering them in). Even being very, very careful, the A- string pin broke off recessed in the hole and required me to drill the remaining part out. And due to the bridge design, even with the same gauge new strings, The B-string pin refuses to seat and now won’t come out....back to more drilling. I like the bass but I expect this to be a continuing problem everytime I restring... Warwick should have installed the metal string retainer as they did on their more expensive basses. Very frustrating to say the least.
