I have always been obsessed with the swirling depth and lush movement of flanging and chorusand since I mainly play bass for me many flangers are too intense. At lower settings they still have the characteristic “woosh” that sits on top of the mix and for lack of a better description is too obvious. On the other hand chorus alone is a bit boring for my taste. The Polychrome, while fully capable of full on jumbo-jet-fly-by sounds, at conservative settings just provides such a lush effect that adds tons of depth and motion without excessive “woosh.” If you like the sound of Andy Summers guitar on songs like “Walking on the Moon” or Mike Inez’s bass on “No More Tears” then you will love this pedal, as I do.
