The WA2A Optical Leveling Amplifier makes any recording sound better, drastically. I purchased a pair of these from zZounds, excellent customer service over the years, and since putting in over 100+ hours on the WA2A's I can say that these units actually work extremely well. I run my guitars through them, vocals, drums, bass... everything, and there's just something to hear about the difference these make. Comparing recordings without using the leveling amps, they sound mediocre. Plus, I am going to run all of the tracks through the WA2A's at the end as a master, and I am excited for the results there as well. These units are very functional, yet easy to use. Finding the sound is just plain easier with fewer knobs, especially if you let the tubes to the talking! BTW, utilize the "Pre-emphasis" knob on the back to alter the harmonic distortion of the tubes. It's a little difficult to reach in most setups, but dial it up to 3/4 up and that's a good start. Something that I've noticed, heavily distorted guitars sounds real nice with the Peak Reduction turned up fairly high, careful now! All in all, great product. Should last a really long time. P.S. They come with a pret-ty cool sticker.

"YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR"

I purchased 3 WA-2A, 2 EQP-WA and 2 WA-76 for studio A and B. All of the warm audio were working great AT FIRST. A few a months later after purchase, one by one each item were malfunctioning. All of them would turn off on its own and the meter wouldn't move at all. Even after 1 of them being repaired, it did not compress as good as when it was new. Since my 45 days return policy expired, zZounds refused to take it back so I had to go through my warranty and send it to Warm Audio. I sent it to Warm Audio Repairs and had to pay $75.00 dollars per item to fix it plus shipping. Even after the repairs I am still having issues. I am now a true believer of "you get what you pay for." All I can say is save your money and get reliable gear." I have my Manley Vox Box for years and its still like new. I paid thousands for it, but guess what, I am still using it with no issues. I don't recommend these items to anyone. And remember, even if you do try to resell it, your not going to get nothing close to what your really paid for it. I am trying to save your time and money. Do not buy this item or else you will be stuck like me.
