I'm going to hang with this for a while, but I am pleased enough that I expect I will buy a top of the line model down the road. I hate traveling with my good instruments on airplanes. The portability and protection of the backpack eases my mind and still allows me to take a really nice guitar with me while traveling.
Sound
The sound and feel are very nice for a laminate guitar, better than I expected.
Features
I love the backpack, the lightness and the portability. I gave this an 8 because one of the first few times I opened the guitar, I did not notice that the strings tend to slacken above the nut by the headstock. I unfolded the guitar and snapped the G string while on a trip. I see in the electric models they have a velcro strap to hold the strings, it would be helpful to do for the acoustic models as well. I had to gate check the bag (which I had not planned) but it did not fit into the overhead of a very small commuter flight. The guitar came out both times unscathed.
Ease of Use
It delivers what it promises.
Quality
Very nice for the price range, it is a well made guitar.
Value
I've been looking at and comparing travel guitars for a while, Voyage Air seems to be the best I've found. Nice quality and attention to detail.
The Wow Factor
It's just cool, and will let you take your music anywhere!

"Voyage Air VAOM-02"

I purchased the VA exclusively as an airline travel instrument. I had seen and played one of their all solid wood guitars a year earlier and was intrigued by the concept and how competitive the product was in terms of playability and portability. When the VAOM-02 arrived, I was struck by two things: First, it is a very nice instrument for the money and sounded way better than I had thought it would for an all laminate instrument. The finish, tone/volume and playability were better than I had expected. Second, it was apparent straight out of the box that it was not going to fit as a carry on on any of the ERJ/CRJ or smaller regional jets. It probably wouldn't fit on many of the larger equipment either. The backpack is simply no where close to the FAA's and most airlines' carry on size -- despite what the manufacturer claims in their ads. After corresponding a couple of times with zZounds, I somewhat reluctantly returned the guitar. It simply did not meet my needs for a durable and reliable carry on guitar that I could take in lieu of my check-through Hoffee encased instruments (baggage fees being what they are these days). Voyage Air has a great concept, they just need to shrink their products a bit. In the end too, zZounds was great to work with and I'll gladly do business with them in the future.
