satisfied and will be playing through this for quite some time to come.
Sound
The sound of this amp head and vox celestain 10" speaker cab is about the best out there. Put a pre amp pedal in front of your set up and you'll be rockin. I plan to get yengvie malmstien pre amp over drive pedal to compliment this little power house and mike it when playing out
Features
cabinet and speaker cable two piece set you will not regret buying
Ease of Use
I have been use to playing with the korg Ax2500 gutar modeling processor and Kustom 50watt tube amp. I will be purchasing a couple pedal stomp boxes to compliment this lil nite train power house. No need for a processor any more, the tubes in this thing do all the work to make the sound great. You wont re-produce the sound of this little thing with anything digital I know that for sure.
Quality
The lil nite train is incased in a all medal body (the Head) and the speaker cabinet is solid (genuine solidity here)
Value
Every penny, dont regret the price I am paying for this one.
Manufacturer Support
Vox is great and always has been, if your looking for the vintage sound that came from england and States in those early good ole' rockin times, well than look no further here it is all within the vox lil nite train setup.
The Wow Factor
The lil nite train will bring out the rockin spirit in its audience.

"Extremely portable, all-tube, practice amp."
Verified Purchaser
zZounds has verified that this reviewer purchased this specific product from us.
It wasn't that expensive, and it does what I bought it to do. I'm pleased with that. It is not a gigging amp, and it's not designed to be. It makes practicing, and writing much more pleasant than listening to a solid state amp for hours each day. It's a good looking piece of equipment, that ultimately achieves its goal, despite the fact that it could do it better.
Sound
The low wattage tube amp breaks up nicely, and very early. Even with minimum gain, you'll hit just a hint of overdrive on chords played aggressively. However, the sound is all midrange, and treble, with just a hint of mid-bass. I've read that switching to a different speaker cabinet can cure this problem - but why by the combination if you're going to need to replace the speaker? I'm not entirely dissatisfied, but would prefer a bit fuller tone.
Features
They include a speaker cable to connect the amplifier to the cabinet, and it's a quality cable. Attractive, too. I find that the "thick" mode, which disconnects the EQ circuit to pass more current from the pre, to the amp tube is not very useful. I keep mine on the "bright" setting, since I can turn the bass all the way up, and dial back the treble. This sounds thicker to me. Then I use my guitars to adjust the signal that the amp receives to further EQ my tone. The wattage switching is also an unusable feature, unless you already have an 8 ohm speaker cabinet to connect to the amp - as the speaker resistance is what determines the amps power output. The headphone output isn't the best speaker emulator that I've ever heard, but for what it does - I actually like it. I live with roommates, and I often practice in the late hours of the night. This keeps the peace in the house. Literally. (Much more bass response in cans.)
Ease of Use
This combo is extremely easy to transport, and set up. As a practice/jam amp - it fits those needs perfectly. I love being able to pick up the amp, and speaker cabinet in one hand, and carry a guitar in the other. Then when I get where I'm going to be, I plug it in, heat it up, and go! It does seem to take pedals very well.
Quality
This set arrived in absolutely perfect condition. The cage around the tubes and transformers is polished nicely, and manufactured flawlessly. The speaker cabinet is wrapped impeccably, and the included speaker cable is a nice looking, well made one. The knobs are secure, and the pots are clean.
Value
For a low watt, all tube, amp - this is priced comparably with other similar models. With a better speaker cabinet, it might be worth the price, but as it stands right now, I couldn't whole heartedly recommend this to a friend.
Manufacturer Support
I have not had to contact Vox, so I can't score them higher than a 6 for a service they haven't provided. I'll err on the higher side of the spectrum, in their favor, for the fact that I haven't needed support.
The Wow Factor
It's definitely a great looking piece, that's for sure. It's size is perfect for those with a lot of equipment, and not a lot of room. It's the best looking amp out of my collection.

"Best Lil amp out there. Big sound from Lil amp."

Sound
Excellant amp, have had many amps, this is perfect size for the room I use . Also has a unique sound that does not need effects to sound really good. You can really hear the notes very clearly,I really love playing this amp. Have had large all tube amps bofore and could never saturate the tubes for maximum sound because of the size of room I was playing in. Might try a delay with this amp,but really like the way it sounds just the way it is . I like the thick setting, with about 50% gain, this is great for Blues and southern rock, like Lynard Skynard and other rock. Am very happy with the purchase. I play two American Strat's,one with the regular pickup's and one with a humbucker at the bridge, and they both sound great thru this amp. Highly recomend this Lil Night train.
Value
Priced very well.

"Potential for the everyday guitarist no matter what level your current Level of sound needs may be!"

I am all in for the Lil Night Train, I have paid thousands of dollars in the past experimenting with different amps and gain pedals to match the quality Sound and tube warmth of the Lil Night Train and the end I ended up paying about $315.00 the amount the Lil Night Train cost to Purchase.
Sound
Sound is characterized as that of top notch sound, According to how I adjust the gain will increase or decrease the way in which I attack the strings of my guitar which is nice as this allows control through modifying picking hand techniques. In my personal opinion the Lil Night Train has compatible sound quality when comparing to any other amp big or small. I can a power booster pedal such as the lpbn-1 and I got total control of my gain when I need it and thats really all you need with this Lil night train especially if you do not use other effects such chorus or reverb. In that case I sugggest Vox's modeling effect processor Tonelab ST running Vox with Vox products is nice and the sound is wha I have always wanted! ESP if you like the Vintage tube sound sustain and power.
Features
The Lil Nite Train came with the appropiate (quality) cabinet speaker cable and its own PC power cord which is detachable and that is a nice feature all in and of its self especially if you play out alot and will be setting up breaking down loading and hauling. The Lil night trains features compliment any modeling processor or qulaity pedal put in front of it. I say quality because if you are not using a quality pedal of some kind you will take away from the quality of sound the Lil Night Train is capable of delivering all by its self...
Ease of Use
Very easy to get a sound with the lil n ight train! Turn the gain half way and the volume half way and you got a quality sound suitable for most playing environments and circumstances.
Quality
Product is made very well and very durable. All metal casing surrounding the The Vox Lil Night Train Head. and the speaker cabinet is made well structurally stable and of good quality.
Value
Product is well worth its price! Typically you will pay twice the amount for a 200 watt head that delivers the same quality of sound and punch! Decibell's are what measures the volume of sound. you'll get all you need with the Lil Night Train unless of course you are deaf...
Manufacturer Support
I have not needed any support with this product since day one.
The Wow Factor

"Great sound in a compact package. You have just enough volume to get great tones from the amp without rattling the windows out"
Verified Purchaser

The head alone is great but overpriced. Skip the combo and get a better speaker.
Sound
Sparkling clean tones with gain below noon. Crunchy tone above noon but not a lot of clean headroom. Perfect for home practice though.
With the "thick mode" enable and the gain and volume cranked you get outstanding hard rock and 80's metal kind of sounds with humbuckers.
The 10" cab in mediocre. The amp really sounds much better on a better speaker.
Features
Separate master volume and gains, otherwise as base as you can get on an amp.
Ease of Use
So easy a monkey can do it. Turn knob, change sound.
Quality
Mine has an annoying rattle that I can't find. Checked the tubes and all of the screws but it rattles noticeably about noon on the volume. Does it even if the head is not on the speaker.
Value
I think it's overpriced for what it is. You're paying a premium for the name. It's a nice amp but the head should be under $200
Manufacturer Support
Not really support, more of customer service. I told ZZounds about the rattle and they sent me an RMA.
The Wow Factor
It's s great looking amp.
