I bought the Vox AC4 as a practice amp. Something I could use for band rehearsals in small places. I already knew ahead of time that I was going to do some slight modifications to it. Out of the box it sounded good - a little flat. I replaced all the tubes with Mullard tubes and put a Celestion Greenback G10 into it. Now it sounds great! Even at 4w it keeps up with a drummer. I used it last week for a small gig. We mic'd it and it was perfect for the room size. It also takes my pedals very well. A friend of mine sewed a nice padded amp cover for it (no cover available from Vox). I dig the two-tone cover. Very happy with this purchase and my back is happy not to drag my 75lb Mesa Amp wherever I go! Super fast shipping from zZounds too!
