Feeling and dynamics are two of the things I’m after when buying an amp and this one knocks it out of the park. You really do get those blackface fender cleans With voice one. Voice two with the mid kick on is a whole other beast. I love my ac15 but don’t even use it anymore because of this amp. Super loud and a blast with pedals. I’m running it through a vertical Orange 212 with neo cream backs and the tone just hugs you. Highly recommend. zZounds customer service is also phenomenal as always. Thanks guys!

First, I have had a ton of amps over the years since the mid 90’s. Big fenders, vox, and many others for shorter times and last year in 2022 I got a soldano mini amp and boogie cab with a single 12” speaker. I was actually really enjoying that amp because I mostly play at home and for a low price I could dial in cleans and overdrive tones at the right volume. My favorite amp before that was a Princeton reverb but I wanted a head this time. Both of those took pedals really well. The soldano died a few days ago and I needed a new amp. I looked and looked at all the available heads and I chose the duchess because it is all tube, and not just 42 watts but 7, and I tell you I have not had a better sounding amp before. Imagine a deluxe reverb that is just better sounding. It has the extraordinary clean tones but with a warmer more complex tone and a master volume, effects loop, and turning it on low at home I can get the tones I want at reasonable volume while still being blown away by how complex and dynamic the tone is. It’s really an amazing piece gear. I used my strymon riverside and wampler velvet fuzz, sometimes driving the fuzz with the riverside and the rock tones are glorious. I am amazed at how great it sounds. You just can’t beat it.
