I have many amps from low to high end. This little amp beats them all. Very well made, sounds great and very versatile. I am going on 10 months of playing this amp just about every day and it just keeps getting better with time. If you are looking for a great amp for practice, home or recording, look no further than tone king! You will not be disappointed. Would be hard pressed to find someone who doesn't like these amps. Only thing I changed, as with many amps, was the speaker. I put a tone tubby blue alnico in it about a month after purchase and it is great. The original wasn't bad but I wanted a little more headroom from the blue speaker. Can't rate the support as I have not needed it and doubt I will. But if support is half as good as the amp, I am sure I would be very satisfied.

This is the second Tone King I’ve bought in the last year and a half. It pains me to say it, but these aren’t the Tone King’s they’re riding the name of. I’ve most recently bought the Falcon Grande and then the Gremlin. Both have a super robust chassis and cabinet. And when they’re working, they sound good. The problem is that what’s inside the chassis is NOT robust: cheap pots; and flimsy sockets that have to be mounted to the PCB. So if you ever want to change the tubes, be prepared to feel the actual construction at work. And the noise problems in both the Falcon Grande and the Gremlin are unbelievably troublesome. If it’s not grounding and hum, it’s noise from both the tubes and circuit. The RF noise and bleed from the KT-66 in the Gremlin is just too much. I’ve loved Tone King for a decade or more. But these last two amps bear all the hallmarks of PBG products: great sound for 2 to 8 months, and then the bottom falls out of them. I don’t know if other modern companies are making their amps last longer than a year without a problem, but nobody has reviewed this, so I had to say something. Will the new Tone Kings sound great in the store? I’m sure they do. But both of mine have had serious gremlins in them, and that’s not a pun — it’s the exact word for it. This is just one person’s experience, but these amps are built for profit, not sound. I’ll just leave it at that.

Manufacturer Support
Helped with the first amp. Near Impossible to reach. Sounded like they had better things to do than deal with me (I’m sure they did.) The whole operation is spread so thin that customer or technical support is basically nonexistent.
