This is the first review I have ever written for a piece of gear. All I can say is that this thing is worth every penny, it is excellent. I have owned the Two Notes Torpedo and the Rivera Rock Crusher. While the aforementioned are all good in certain aspects, the Tone King does the job better. It is organic, transparent and built like a tank. While it's not a particularly light piece of gear, it's hefty construction reeks of quality and craftmanship. The Presence control on the front is intuitive and very helpful as I use it on different settings for two separate pieces of gear, a Friedman and an EVH. I also use it with the Mesa Triple Crown, but the Mesa is my stage amp and I just crank that one without much attenuation. The Hi and Lo frequency knobs are the perfect option for when it's REALLY late at night and you just need a little more attenuation without the fuss. Yes, it's pricey, but priced well below UA's and perhaps just as good. It took me a while to pull the trigger as I started my journey with the Bugera, which is absolute garbage then graduated to more expensive attenuators. This is the one.

After trying out many attenuators over the years, this is easily the best! The tone and dynamics remain natural even at the lowest settings. Im completely satisfied and would recommend to anyone. The unit itself is much bigger than i thought and is built like a tank. Fairly heavy due to the transformers, but its so worth it for the tone! Currently using with a Laney La30bl and '68 Bassman. This is also the first onboard cab emulation that I've ever been happy with. Great product!

The Tone King Ironman ll 100 watt attenuator is a game changer!! I have owned a few other products that didn’t deliver on many levels. No worries here with the Tone King. It is worth the investment and allows you to actually play and enjoy your amps you love that keeps the peace with the family and the neighbors. Built like a tank. I installed the included large footings and it fits perfectly on my Fender Deluxe Reverb 65 and Marshall JTM45 plexi half stack. It is as advertised. Simple to connect it to your amp and allows you to finally put away the headphones. The impedance selection was the decision maker for me. Now I can purchase any amp and use it with any cabinet. Do yourself a big favor and get one if you’re serious about using your gear on your terms.

If you need to crank your amps without bugging your family or your neighbors look no further. I have a Trainwreck Express clone that has one volume: loud. I plugged this thing up to my amp and 4x12 cab with V30’s, and it allowed me to crank up the amp without blowing out my eardrums, the windows, and keeping the old lady happy. The added features are great for shaping the presence and being able to use it for recording/live situations where something like a 4x12 cab is out of the question. It didn’t muddy the tone or degrade it at all. It’s built like tank too. I really like that you can mismatch the impedance between amps and cabs - saves one from needing specific cabs or having to rewire speaker cabs to match the amp. Overall I’m very happy with this purchase. Don’t let the price tag sway you - if you live an apartment and want to crank your amp into heavenly bliss you can achieve that with the Ironman II.
