"Awesome amp - better than tube."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Love this amp... all I need now is a head version. (They offer a Trademark head but with a different circuit and no reverb).
Sound
Great tone, better than several tube amps, at any volume. Overdrive is very heavy but with amazing clarity. Best combo amp in the market. I sold a Mesa Nomad and bought this one and I don't regret it at all, sounds better and I still was able to keep some money from the Mesa.
Features
Features are ok, but they need to re-design the footswitch so it has boost and reverb switches independently. Also need a ext speaker out for a 4x12.
Quality
very well built plus its solid state so no problems with tubes going bad.
Value
Best combo amp for the money and beats a lot of amps costing 3 x as much.
Manufacturer Support
Tech 21 staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I've emailed them a couple of times and they always get back to me quickly and efficiently.
The Wow Factor
The most important thing on this amp is really the tone. It is THAT good.

I would like to suplement it with the add on speaker made for it, but right now that is too expensive to add. I am going to try it with a speaker cabinet, just cause I am curious...
Sound
This beats everything I have played in 47 years! It so closely matches, and sometimes exceeds, the sound of the Fenders. My play buddies can hardly believe ALL that comes form that little amp! I only wish the unit would allow seperate Reverb settings per channel, and any new ones MUST have a master volumn knob! Otherwise don't change a single thing! VERY Expressive and responsive to pick attack. LOVE IT!!
Features
Footpedal works as designed. Would be nice to have a wah sound for the fender sounds, for my style of playing. I play a Fender Strat and a Guild semi-hollow that sounds GREAT with this amp. I have EVEN used my Liberty resonator guitar thru this and got outstanding results. This was partly due to the VAST range of the tonalities available with this little monster!
Ease of Use
Great sounds are pretty easy. Just TOUCH the knobs and the change is pretty wide. You have to be careful to tweak your sound during performance. Too much and you can transform into something you DON'T want, but generally no problem and I as get more used to it I am sure I will settle on settings that will ALWAYS work.
Quality
WELL made! Feels very solid, yet light enough to trasport easily! What a deal! I wish it came with an amp cover for the price you pay, but they are available as an extra purchase so I guess that is not REALLY a complaint. I have played it on stage, and traveled with it a bit, and it has never let me down. The plug in cord is a little loose and has vibrated out once or twice causing me a moments concern when settign up for a gig, but quickly corrected and up and playing without to much loss of time. I expect this amp to be around my house and gigs for YEARS and YEARS!
Value
Worth the price but an amp cover included would make it PERFECT!
Manufacturer Support
I sent an e-mail to them about a couple of questions, and got a call back within minutes! Unbelieveable!! I doubt I will need to have any repair service, this beast is solid!
The Wow Factor
It is a TECHNICAL marvel. It is an addition to the gear I already own, but it gets more and more of my devotion everytime I use it.

Tech 21 TM60 Trademark 60 Customer Review

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
The sounds I can get out of this "little amp that does" are great. I play mostly in church, and jam with my old friends on occasion. I have all the tone I want and need for both sets of circumstances.
Features
This amp sounds great. Isn't that all you need? I sold a Cybertwin at a low price because with all those features Fender forgot to pack that box with tone! The 2 channel footswitch is functional as well as the sans amp on board!
Quality
It looks old school which some people don't like, however play through it and things get attractive.
Value
the amp is worth the price.

"Superb amp with wonderful tones"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
This is the ideal amp to have at a gig to get any sound you might want within the classic range of rock or blues. A truly professional sound - some are absolutely gorgeous and compare with the best there is. This amp has all the advantages of a solid state design with the sound you expect from a tube amp - no kidding.
Sound
This is an amp with a superb set of sounds. Using the cleaner channel you can get a great Vox AC30, Fender Reverb and general Mesa Boogie type sounds. Channel 2 will give you all sorts of Marshall type sounds. I use this with Les Paul and a Strat and find that it is easy to imitate the Yardbirds, Classic Clapton and John Mayall type blues sounds, as well as covering a sort of high sustain Brian May type of sound. I have had the amp for over a year and I am still finding new sounds on it. If pushed, I would say the best sounds are the Channel 1 AC30/Fender type sounds - the Marshall sound is good, but perhaps not quite up to the classic Marshall tube sound - but very nice nonetheless. I don't play heavy metal, and although the amp can be pumped up well it is not really for the metal fiend.
Features
The footswitch changes channels and engages the boost which simply boosts volume for soloing. The pedal could be bigger - it is easy to change channels instead of hitting the boost - can be awkward in the middle of a song. Like everyone else I wish the reverb was on a separate circuit to the boost. It also engages the effects loop - I don't use this - but it has its uses I can see that.
Ease of Use
The amp is both easy to use and difficult. The controls are completely understandable and yet there is not much on the amp to help you to find sound types. The instructions help but only so much - you really have to fiddle with it. In the end you learn. The manual is good as far as it goes, although one can argue with their suggestions for amp settings to sound like famous guitar tones. I don't agree with their suggestion for the high sustain Brian May type sound for example. You can get a good sound like it, but not the way they tell you to.
Quality
Very well made indeed
Value
Very good. This amp has the sound quality of a real custom-made high end amp
Manufacturer Support
No idea as I have had no problems with mine except the main power neon has gone already.

Tech 21 TM60 Trademark 60 Customer Review

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I don't expect to own another amp in my lifetime, or at least another brand. I started playing when I was 11 and I am 52 now...and I am completely satisfied with my Tech21 Trademark60. What more can I say?
Sound
I gave it a '9' only because a '10' only happens in my head. I had been agonizing for months over a new amp. Had almost decided on one of the mid-sized Boogie flavors and forget paying rent or eating for a while. I got wind of this company back East that had this 'modelling' amp that really worked. Yah, right, I thought...heard that tune before. Checked out Tech21's site and checked out the sound bytes these...I ordered one the next day. The MB and Marshall emulation are really good...the Fender tube thing and Vox thing are downright scary....close your eyes and you are sitting in front of a '65 DeLuxe or Royal Guardsman, depending on the settings. Spin a couple of dials, punch the "Weep" and you got a warm, thick tone that will melt butter...I'm in love...and I have about $1000 left in my pocket!
Features
2-channel, dynamit reverb (yah, I'd like a separate reverb and boost myself but, oh well), "bite" & "weep"...I only gave it a 9 because there is not a well for my tumbler of Jack. Seriously, I would like some tilt-back legs, a-la-Twin, because she is very small and really needs to be up off the floor for maximum effect. Even so, you put her in a situation where she is dancin' with a MB and Marshall and she holds her own.
Quality
I can only speak from over 40 years experience with amps overall as I have only had my Trademark60 for three months. But the no frills, tank-like construction give me great hope for a durable product...but only time will tell.
Value
In my experience, this product is the absolute best 'bang for your buck' you can get in guitar amplification.
Manufacturer Support
Clapton is not god...Lloyd is!!! He has put up with more crap from me even before I actually purchased my Trademark60 with stupid questions and wanting my hand held while I talked myself into trying something new (buying this amp like a pig in a poke with no personal experience). Their site says to expect at least 24-hours for a response. Listen, I have, on occasion, had Lloyd, or one of his mates, calling me on the phone almost as soon as I email them. If for no other reason, this company is my new home!
The Wow Factor
One guy said, "Pretty little girl with a dirty mouth!" The only thing I can add to that is she is wearing 5" stiletto heels and stockings! Come to Papa!!!

"Probably the most versatile amp on the market."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
If they come out with an amp that can exactly reproduce the Marshall and Fender tones;while being as compact and lightweight as the tm-60; then I would probably trade for it ;otherwise I'm hanging on to the tm-60.
Sound
for a modeling amp; this amp(a Solid state amp)comes extremely close to the actual tube sounds of a Fender,Marshall and Mesa Boogie. It actually sounds more like a tube amp than some of the cheaper tube amps on the market. And its portable and very light(less than 40 lbs). Also the amp is loud enough to gig in small to medium size clubs without miking(but does sound better miked).
Features
the fooswitch is quite interesting;not only for switching channels but turns on/off output boost and/or reverb;it also has some pushbutton features that makes it perform similar to a class a amp(volume and o/d go up and down depending on how hard you pick the guitar).
Quality
I like it and so far hasn't failed on me(that's important)
Value
I feel the amp is a little pricely, but not really considering all the the you can do with it;however would like it to be a least $100 cheaper.
Manufacturer Support
haven't had to use it yet

"Incredible Amp! Incredible sound! Great value!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
Incredible! Everyone in my band is amazed. It sounds as good as any Fender, Marshall or Mesa around--and can sound like all of them and more. I am buying a second one, I love it so much. I can easily get great sounds -- clean or distorted -- in seconds.
Features
Very versatile. Features include footswitch that not only switches channels and reverb but also switches the effects loop.
Value
Better than amps costing twice as much. Better than any modelling amp I've ever used to tried and is much less money.
Manufacturer Support
You will NEVER find better support than Tech 21 has. No voicemails or idiots answering phones. You get a live person, often a designer or tech who will take the time you need to address the issues. They answer emails quickly and with the right info. Break something or need repairs, they will respond immediatly and often at no cost.
