this is a fantastic guitar, it sounds wonderful. I had uneasy feelings about the bolt on neck, but that didn't last long.

I bought one of these a couple of weeks ago and am very impressed. I'm 59 years old and have been playing for 45 plus years with the emphasis on Acoustic for the last 3 years and I can honestly say , this is without a doubt , the best Acoustic in it's price range today. When I bought it , it was already set up just fine as far as string height and intonation were concerned. All I did was to clean up the fretboard a bit with some Lemon Oil and put on some new strings . While the included gigbag is well made, I went and bought a Silver Creek Vintage style Hard case which fits this guitar just fine and is a cheaper alternative to having to pay 200 bucks for a Taylor case. The reason why I did this is because, Taylors are highly succeptable to changes in humidity and a HS case will protect your investment . Anyway, back to the sound of the BBT, this beauty can definitely hang with guitars that IMO, cost much more and yes, it is worthy of using for gigs which I already have done. I love this guitar and am now a confirmed Taylor addict. I can see myself buying more Taylors in the future.

"Big Baby is a great guitar"

I have own a Taylor Big Baby since 2007 and it holds its own against a full size 3k plus Gibson or its bigger Taylor brothers and sisters. The tone is pure acoustic gold.. Clear, bright, and sweet. No need to drop 3k on a hummingbord or dove, get the Taylor Big Baby

Musical Background:

Playing Guitar for 40 years. Also play Bass and Mandoli

Blues, Rockabilly, Classic Rock

I've been playing and fighting with acoustic guitar neck action since the Beatles USA debut. Gibsons, Fenders, Washburns, Hagstoms, et al... too many to mention. Took a chance on the BBT, received it in perfect condition from Z, and want to say thank you to who ever made this fine instrument in Mexico. He/she did a wonderful thing for this old fart. Neck needed just a little pulling back for these arthritic hands and that was it. Strings sit just flush with the frets with no buzz period. Intonation-perfect. Sound-harmony. Weight-sweet. Again, thank you. I'm back in the recording mood again.

Since the Beatles

Musical Style:

Used to be Rock, then Jazz, now soft breezy easy listening.

"My First Acoustic Guitar"

I been an electric guitarist for 9 years this summer and I decided to buy an acoustic guitar because I wanted to spark some new sounds and inspiration into my playing. The Taylor Big Baby is an excellent guitar for that, mine came perfect out of the box. It sounds good especially while playing open chords and barre chords and delivers a warm rich tone and surprisingly decent bass. The fret board is full scale and the body is only slightly smaller than a full size acoustic. A good guitar to transition from say a full size electric to the BTT. The BTT is actually longer than my Gibson SG so it's not a small by any means. At $399.00 This guitar is worth every penny. Excellent Mexican craftsmanship. The bolt on neck is irrelevant and also one of the reasons it's hundreds cheaper in my opinion. The gig bag is nice looking too but I'll never use it unless I move somewhere else.So electric guitarist looking to start playing acoustic or beginner guitarist in general will highly benefit from this beautiful instrument. It's definitely not a toy.

I been playing music for around 9 years. I'm basically a hobby guitarist.
