I researched many different digital recorders. I chose this over the zoom F3. This recorder is a lot more versatile. It is my first digital recorder. So I read the owners manual and the reference manual, I studied the manuals over and over to familiarize myself with it. little by little I got confident enough to use it, and it makes awesome recordings. I recorded my acoustic guitar and percussion. I got a Shure microphone to go with it. my first two recordings were super clear and no noticable hiss or dropouts.
