Awesome steel sound and its natural ring can be controlled nicely by head choice. The heads that it comes with weren't the best. I also replaced the snare wires right away. Tone is nice and full. Loud volume. Great snare for low or high tuning. Lots of body. I play metal, but I would imagine this fitting in with a lot of genres. A steal at $250.

Currently an actively gigging drummer. Playing for 20 years.

This snare is great for hard rock and power punk! I replaced the 20 strained snare wires with tama 42 strained wires to get that wet pop and now it sounds like a fired cannon! Get it!!!

Loud and proud with this snare cannon, dont put a two ply head it sounds better with single imo. She can be a bit ringy for any genre but its ok for rock, punk, anything with lots of energy...

I originally bought this snare because of the price. I have not been let down in the least. Straight from the box to my kit the drum has been wonderful. The harder you hit, the better it sounds. Great snare for any hard hitters or people who just like a great pop to their kit... Get it! Worth it! Thanks Tama. Also, thank you zzounds for offering your payment plans. You can't go wrong on this one folks.

I honestly bought this snare for the price. It isn't top of the line and it's not bottom of the line. I will now use this drum until it's unusable. The depth of this snare makes for a great, deep pop for the type of music I play. (Punk and Hard Rock.) I pulled it from the box after it arrived one day after I ordered it, set it on my stand and went to it. I've played 2 shows with it now and it sounded truly great both times, not to mention during jam sessions, practice and recording. I highly recommend this snare for the harder rockers out there. I believe it could almost survive a nuclear attack and still sound great... Thanks Tama!

Musical Background:

I play the drums in a band and practice guitar on the side.
