"Worth the Money, and the Wait"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Overall, it's a really good deal. This, the Squier Bass Pak, and the Squier Acoustic Pack, are together the best way to start your own little band.
Sound
Although made by Squier, most likely in China, it still has the classic sound and feel of a true Fender. It is very responsive, and is much better than no-name copies from cheap brands. It's good compared to name brands, too.
Features
Is there any more we could ask for in features? You don't really need much else, unless you want to record your songs. All the included equipment is great. The strap is comfortable, the tuner is efficent, the pciks and strings are quality, etc.
Quality
There are no cosmetic problems, all the hardware is fine, etc. Athough I would not like to take it "on the road," it would do okay. As of now, it seems like it'll last 6-7 years, give or take a year.
Value
This kit is practically the best value since a 12-pack of Coca-Cola for $2.38. Yep, now that's madness.
Manufacturer Support
I have dealt with Fender before, and approve of them. My father wokred at their Corona plant for a little over the year, making Jazz Basses and Teles, mostly. He liked it, but he had to leave due to financial problems with the company and the family. Otherwise, support is great. Not perferct, but better than most.
The Wow Factor
I love the way it looks and feels. It's not as stunning as a Fender Powerhouse Strat, but it's close.

"Awesome starter guitar at a really awesome price. Loads of extras."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
The guitar is good quality. The hardware isn't the best available, but for the price, it's worthwhile. the package included loads of extras, Fender Amp, Fender headphones, Cable, picks, guitar strap, gig bag, tuner, basic introductory guide book for beginners, and extra strings. It has everything you would need to start playing right out of the box. A great value.
Sound
Standard Stratocaster sound. Nothing fancy, but an inexpensive alternative to a Standard Fender Strat. Sounds just like a regular Fender.
Features
This package has everything you need to get started. Granted, everything isn't high end accessories, but for the cost there is none better. I really like the headphones. I use them for pretty much everything from my stereo to my computer. How can you complain about a package that gives you a true Fender Amp.
Ease of Use
The only drawback to this guitar is the it tuning. It tends to get out of tune frequently, but for the price, I gladly put up with that. Once you get the guitar set up to your personal preference, it's very easy to play.
Quality
With the exception to the hardware and the pick-ups, everything is the same as a Standard Fender Stratocaster. If you were to put locking tuning keys and high end bridge and pick-ups, it would be the same exact guitar. High quality for the price. If compared to a high end guitar it would be lacking (probably a 6) but for the price, it's one of the best. It's a great starter.
Value
One of the best values you'll find.
Manufacturer Support
I never needed it.
The Wow Factor
This guitar doesn't really stand out from the pack, but it is a solid made and great guitar to play. Nothing fancy but very functional. If you want to impress someone with your guitar, this one won't do it, but if you want a inexpensive guitar that plays well, this is it.

"A great guitar package."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
I like this product alot Iplan to keep it for a fewe years. Since I recomend this for begginners. I plan to get a more expensive guitar later. Most people I know own this guitar and other guitarists have recomended this most.
Sound
This guitar is great no matter what you play. You can get almost any sound your looking for. I can get a light telecaster sound and a deep metal style tone. Also the amp goes grreat with the guitar it can get really loud. I like the range of sound you can get on this guitar.
Features
This guitar had everything I needed to get started. The amp is great it can get lots of different sounds and it's really loud. The case and the strings and the pics are reeally well made. I still use them after about a year. Also the book is usefull if you wanna learn to play.
Quality
It has never been scratched, I never really dropped it. However with the amount of times i've hit the wall with it or dragged it along. Nothings happened looks almost brand new. The only problem is that the slot where the wire from the amp hooks up to the guitar gets loose and can fall apart. However this cn be fixed easily with a screwdriver.
Value
I think it was worth the price. Mainly its the amp thats worth the extra money.
Manufacturer Support
I havn't contacted the company, but they do have a website.
The Wow Factor
The metallic red and blue are really nice. My friend owns a red and I own a blue. MOst people I know owns a Squier affinity strat like this and they all look great. They all look like realFender strats.

"A review from someone who actually bought the product, great for beginners."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
over all it is a good buy. it is a lil better than the similer pakage for $200, better amp, better guitar, and a nice set of head phones. When you really look at it, the guitar alone is $170, amp $70, headphones $40, book about $15, wow! your already over $280! Plus more is included, so you save.
Sound
The sound is actually good.
Features
Needs a DVD, than it would get a 10, and the tuner makes up for the strings getting outta tune every onece in a while. The headphones arent those crappy $5 discount they just slap on to make the price higher, its comfy and the sound is great. The book is pretty informative, and it comes with some pretty good songs.
Quality
You can not break this. And unlike what other people say, i have played non-stop for 8 hours and the strings are holdin up fine, not "breaking instanly"
Value
its a lil pricey, but still worth it.
The Wow Factor
omg this guitar is sexy. Even my cat ran up rubbing all around it and purrin, i had to take him outta the room, and of course, scratching to get in. This guitar is like it has the "ax effext" goin.

"Squire Strat Experience"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Yes, its a very good product, I would have given it a 10 except for the Tone Dials not working.
Sound
I like this guitar. The pick ups are decent on this Guitar, which is good for the money you pay for it. The Amp is good, but the distorion could be better, so I would say, buy a Effect pedal, and you wil be set. But I wouldnt suggest putting the amp higher than 6, or else you might blow it out.
Features
It came with some good things, but I would suggest getting a Longer Cable, but other than that, it came with some really good items.
Ease of Use
This Guitar is easy to use, but the Tone Dials dont really make a difference. It may just be y guitar, but they really dont affect the sound at all, but its easy to setup and play.
Quality
It has perfect Quality, except for the tone dials not working on my guitar. Other than that it works great. You might also want to buy some wax to clean your Guitar.
Value
Yes, it comes with a great amount of accesories for the money you pay.
Manufacturer Support
I havent had to Contact them so far.
The Wow Factor
Yes, it has great appeal. Its a nice shape.

(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I'm sure it will last me a while, at least until i get a better one, and then it will be my "other" guitar.
Sound
It sounds good for the price i paid.
Features
It's a nice starter package, though I plan on buying a better strat later on (when i have the money) the amp is decent and the other accesories are nice.
Ease of Use
I find that I can get a pretty nice variety of sounds out of this guitar.
Quality
Good quality. i did break a string after a month or so, and then one of the replacements that came with it about a week after that. But that is probably just me (big hands)
Value
It was a very good value for I got. I would definitely buy it again if I needed too. Like for someones birthday or something.
Manufacturer Support
I have not dealt with them yet, but i'm sure they are very helpful.
The Wow Factor
It's probably not the most appealing guitar out there, unless you're a beginner with very little cash, and then it's the greatest guitar you've ever seen. ;)

Squier Strat Pack Customer Review

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Awesome for the price! Obviously I will get other models of other guitars, but this has sentimental value to me.
Sound
I love the sound of a Stratocaster. Hendrix made me want a fender, but my wallet made me get a squier. Anyone that says the pickups buzz too much should get a guitar with humbuckers. Single coils buzz unless you get single coils that cost more than this guitar. I have the rosewood fretboard, and I love the sound. The amp isn't the best f it's cranked up, but great for the bedroom guitarist.
Features
Normal strat equipment. I didn't like the tuner, but everything else was good especially the headphones.
Ease of Use
Plug it in, practice, play, repeat
Quality
You may need to get this guitar professionally set up, but mine played well out of the box.
Value
Great deal for the cash.

Sound
Good Sound. It needs to be set-up and shielded. Single coils buzz unless you buy new pickups which cost as much as the guitar.
Features
The amp is OK and the features are good enough
Quality
Body and neck are great. Electronics, tuners, and bridge are ok
Value

"This guitar ROCKS!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I'll keep playing this for a while the only thing I would buy is a different amp.
Sound
Great guitar! Nice sound, amps pretty good, extra stuff is great. This guitar sounds awesome on different amps like a Marshell Stack or a slightly bigger amp. I may be a beginer, but I'm really good and I'm my private music teacher's best student. He has a lot of students. Seriously, I'm good. My teacher says I'll be famous and he's positively not kidding. This guitar rocks!
Features
Good quality. Great tuner, picks, book, headphones. Strap sucks, but it's nice to have if it's all you've got.
Quality
Really tough guitar. The plug got loose, but it's no prob if you tighten it with a rench. Very tough guitar. It will last a long time. Only bad thing is one tone control doesn't really do anything and the pickups buzz, but it's not so bad.
The Wow Factor
Looks great! Nice to hold.

Would only recommend it for beginners, but for those looking for a low price guitar , this is the one to get.
Sound
Sounds okay for a beginner, but as you progress you'll start to heard it's faults. Pickups are pretty crappy, and get the job done minimally. The amp buzzs and wurrs but if u can get past it it's fine.
Features
Comes with everything to get started. Neck made with real wood. unfortunatly, the body is made of fibre glass-but it's thin and quite light.
Quality
Quality is awesome for the price, but more experience plays will start to dislike it.
Value
Best thing for the price

"Review for the Squier Fat Strat Pack (Just like this one except mine has a Humbucker pickup.)"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I think I might get about 5-7 years out of this guitar. Maybe I'll replace the amp in a year or two, but the amp it comes with is wonderful for practice. I was considering an Epiphone, which I bet would have been nice too, but I'm very, very glad I got this.
Sound
I was very satisfied with the sound. Sounds almost like a true Fender. The pickups, dials, and 5 ways selector switch offer a huge variety of sounds. Wonderful sound for the price.
Features
The accesories were great. The picks looked really cool, the tuner was very functional and easy to use, the headphones were absolutely awesome, and the gig bag, though limited, does the job and protects the guitar.
Ease of Use
Very easy to use, I opended the box really easily. When you open box, you will see the gig bag (with the guitar in it), A small box, with the extra strings and picks and tuner, your cables, headphones, and another big box, which has your amp. I was all set up and playing in 10-15 minutes.
Quality
For the price, it's probably one of the best guitars out there. When compared to a Standart Strat (Fender being 10), I'd give it an 8. Compared to a really good, expensive guitar, I'd give it a 6. Remember, Squier is by Fender, as in, these guitars are made by Fender under the name Squier. They're the same thing as a strat, but they were designed for small budgets, so they're cheaper. In fact, when Fender first made Squier, they put "Fender Squier Series" on the headstock.
Value
Definately worth the money. I probably won't replace this guitar for 3-6 years. Very good sounding, and the quality of the accesories are amazing.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't needed it yet.
The Wow Factor
Amazoing. The mettalic red color that I have is very cool, and looks unique. The guitar shape is like a standard Fender Stratocaster, and it feels very comfortable when I'm playing it. The overall design is wonderful, and the 2 tone dials and 5 way switch make for a very big pallete of sounds.

"AWESOME GUITAR!"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars

Great guitar for beginners.
Sound
The sound can go from all ranges. I play a lot of U2 songs and this guitar sounds very like what the edge plays.
Features
The amp can crack from time to time, probably wont last for another year. It came with a whammy bar but its not working very well. Overall it has a lot of decent features.
Ease of Use
It has 2 tone dials and 1 volume dial. The tones work really well and u can mess around with the amp to get a good sound.
Quality
The neck wood is so nice! Very easy to slide up on down on it even when my fingers are sweaty.
Value
Great price for a good guitar!

i got the product about 2 months ago and Im going to want a new one in about 1 to 1 and 1/2 years.
Sound
The sound on this guitar is ok (as in it does not give the widest viraitey of sound.). Personaly I can not tell that there is much difference in tones but it is still a great guitar for its price. The amp is only 15 watts so it will have that 15 watt amp sound. Also mine needed a bit of brige work.
Features
a feature i wish it had is beater sound versatility. and some thing like sunbrust for its color
Ease of Use
well it is very easy to use and it comes with every thing you need. but I needed to mess around with the amp and the guitar to get the thing closest to the sound I want.
Quality
great quality for the money.

I give it a 5 out of ten. Nothing horrible nothing great. just there.
Sound
Sound? Id describe it as mediocore. The pickups are weak in comparison to models offered by epiphone (Epiphone SG Special). Gets the job done, but would not exactly reccomend it for the sound quality.
Features
It certainly comes with a long list of included accessories. Not many companies offer items such as headphones.
Quality
Pretty Good quality. You get what you pay for with Squier.
Value
Its not worth the price. Go for the Epiphone man.

"ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW--A DETAILED REVIEW FROM SOMEONE WHO KNOWS FROM EXPERIENCE"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Everything in this review should be all you need to know before buying. I will upgrade amps soon, but that's just because of the lack of effects/ size and volume. Very good guitar.
Sound
Well, let me start off by saying that I love the sound of this guitar. If you're looking to buy this as a beginner, I would absolutely suggest it as the best thing out there for this price. But if you are more experienced, I would say you might be disapointed with the guitar itself, unless you change pickups and strings and the pickguard and give it a good setup right away. I had to raise two strings because of fret buzz...which is going to happen anyway with mass produced guitars due to uneven frets. So give that some thought, because it may be practical to get your frets sanded depending on if your particular guitar has that problem. But as I said, for a beginner, or great players too, this guitar rocks! It's got that great Fender sound it's totally worth buying to learn on or to just buy for the fun of it...to give you something to tweak with or just play it out of the box, because it's just a really great guitar. Maybe not the best guitar out there, but the quality is amazing for the price.
Features
When I first got this guitar, they left out the Fender guitar method book and the tuner didn't work right(would turn on but not off), but all that was fixed with one email and they shipped it out right away with 2 day shipping. If you're reading this, you know what the pak includes...all work great and I love the whammy bar. The guitar doesn't hold in tune very well when you're using it, but it's easy to tune and unless you going to a big gig where you play for a while before getting to a tuner, I don't think it's a problem. The selector switch and knobs work fine, so nothing there. I like the amp, it's small and has fuzzy distortion, but it's got good volume and great quality. Perfect for home or small gig use. I wish the amp had some effects though, like wah and reverb, etc. It does have a drive channel but that's about it. Not much to play with but great for practicing.
Quality
The pickguard is bubbly and the finish is relatively easy to knick, but I've banged it against the wall a few times and hit it with the whammy bar and it's only got 2 tiny, minor dings. Besides, mine is white(or cream) and it shows up easier. The quality is good otherwise, although the fret board does look kinda fake. Very minor, again, but I'm picky. It fits great, no loose parts or anything. I would never keep a backup on this thing, it's just very reliable and hardy. I would say the guitar should last for many years. The gig bag is kind of cheap though. You'll want to get a new one soon if you carry yours around a lot. The amp is hardy like I said and even when you buy another one, which you probably will in time, it's still keepable and worth playing.
Value
Very worth the price. The best stat pak out there
Manufacturer Support
I've never needed any repairs. I dealt with zzounds when I had to request a replacement for the book and they sent me extra strings, tuner, picks, etc and that fixed my tuner prob. They were friendly and quick, and eager to make sure my needs were met. But that's zzounds and not Squier/Fender.
The Wow Factor
I would have gotten this even if I didn't need it for my music. There are tons of other good guitars out there and I chose this one. As a musician, doesn't that speak for itself?

"Get The Truth Here!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

I am very pleased with this product... this product has taken me where I have wanted to go in my musical career(starting a band & starting to produce a single)
Sound
This product has a pretty good sound for the price. The amp which it comes with is a fairly good amp. If you want to play heavy distortion you press the drive button and turn the gain up as well as the volume down. The pick-ups on the guitar itself are very well made. Although it doesnt have the double pick-up at the bottom it does have the reversed coils in some of the pick-ups. This means you can have it on a certain setting and not recieve any interference from electronics near by... this includes the amp itself. I do belive the guitar would sound better on a larger amp... but for your own personal house use I think that the 15G amplifier is good. If you are going to perform you obviously need a larger amplifier.
Features
This product included all the accessories needed in order to start playing... but if you want to get specialty sounds you have to go out and buy your own foot pedal and what not
Quality
This product comes with almost the best quality... the finish is great and all the peices are fitted perfectly accept for when u pull out the patch cord you have to make sure that the cover to the input doesnt twist off. Even if it does, it is very simple to put back on
Value
The value for the money is great... it doesnt matter wut price you pay the value will still me excellent
Manufacturer Support
I have dealt with the company before and they are very easy to talk to and get what u want
The Wow Factor
The look of this product has actually been a key influence to me buying it... it is designed well and it doesnt bruise your ribs like other boxier guitars
