I have an older Squier affinity telecaster and wanted a Strat type guitar, I saw this and thought for the price it should be good for my needs. I took this guitar out of the box and it seemed like it was set up by a pro! I looked it over to see if anything was outta wack anywhere but it was all perfect. I Never had a brand new guitar with a neck this straight! And such low action with perfect intonation. I have a recently bought another guitar and went into a guitar shop to have some work done on it while I was very played some fender 'Player' Stratocasters and when I tell you they felt exactly the same as my guitar I am being totally honest. I picked up another brand new affinity off the rack while in the guitar shop and it was as perfect as mine. The frets don't need to be polished the fret ends come perfect out of the box. All I can say is there is something about the affinity series guitars that get more attention to detail than the classic vibes do. As far as pickups and sound goes it really can't say anything good or bad as I don't really get out to play much but it sounds like a strat with humbuckers to me. I just don't think I will be spending any more money on top line fender guitars anymore if they keep making these this good. And thank you to zZounds for being a great company and offering us this financing.

ever since I got this thing a few months back it's kind of hard for me to not gig with it. I have an SG, Epi Firebird, Yamaha Revstar, and a Tele, but this dang Squier keeps calling my name. it's just so fun to play. would be an amazing first electric for a beginner, but it's surely so much more than that. the burgundy mist is such a ridiculously cool color as well. I always get some "ooohs" when I pull this bad boy out of the case.

"One of Squier's best offerings that rivals Fender name brand."

I have spent the day jamming on this thing and I'm not one to be easily impressed. This particular guitar has done just that. My first assumption was it's a Squier and pickups will have to be changed. Nope. Pickups are very strong and responsive. Being this is an updated 2021 model the tone this thing creates is better than some name brand pickups I have tried out in the past. For $250 I wasn't expecting what I heard. It does both cleans and high gains like a champ. The construction on this eye appealing but will probably use a tab bit of work. Set up was fine but some frets are sharp but not too bad. The screws in the bridge where your hands rest for palm muting are a tab bit sharp as well. A little sand paper or a small file might do the trick. Mine came in off a truck so with the wood being cold it wasn't holding tune well. Probably the strings and wood adjusting. All in all in very pleased with it and it's miles better than what Ibanez is offering at the moment with their budget line. I recommend this for beginners and vets as long as you put a little TLC in it.

Out of the box it just needed tuning up. I got the artic white with black pick guard, plays very easy , tremolo was slightly floating the way I like it, tuners seem good and stable, pickup sound very good, you can get a good clean warm tone or the funky Strat type tone or rock tone with distortion, body was perfect shape . Comfortable to hold. All around it’s one of the best guitars I’ve played in a while. I play country , blues and rock style. I’m really satisfied with it. Highly recommend to anyone. Great buy from zZounds. The color looks great , like a thousand dollar guitar. Very satisfied with my purchase. I’ve Been playing for over 50 yrs.

Musical Background:
