I got a new one of these in june. So far its been a sweet bass. Has a good feel and sound plus easy to modify if you want. I personally upgraded the tuners to more vintage accurate ones but other than that its all stock. Squier classic vibe series are very good for the money and i want all of them!
Sound
You can do anything you want with this bass. The classic p/j set up with the dual concentric knobs give you the ability to blend volumes and tones for a wide variety of sounds while the 32 inch scale has that somber undertone of the vintage basses.
Features
The ability to set separate volume and tone settings lets you dial in your favorite sound. I think it is kind of a mix of 60s and 70s features but it looks very similar to the current American version. The specimen i have has a gorgeous one piece figured nato body and of course the standard maple neck. The laurel fretboard is kind of light and is porous but once well hydrated it livens up some.
Ease of Use
Its a classic fender bass. Nothing more to say about that.
Quality
It is a quality instrument and put together well. No bad fretwork. Im sure it will last for years granted its taken proper care of. Only thig for me is finding the correct length strings when i need new strings as it is a 32 inch scale not 30 or 34 so strings are harder to find. I haven't tried flatwounds but i like the sound of rounds on this bass so far.
Value
Prices in general have been going up lately but it is still an amazing value for money.
Manufacturer Support
Never needed to.
The Wow Factor
Jaguars look cool. I love vintage style instruments so anything classic fender is something i want.
