this is purely a aesthetics issue. The playability and tone versatility are off the charts. could use a better pre-amp. And in the case of budget active 5 string, you CAN absolutely do better. But I enjoy Squier/Fender products. This mine showed up with a couple minor dings and a couple scratches. could have been from shipping. hard to say, it really wasn't enough to make me send it back. that being said. The neck curve is wonderful. but dry as hell. it can be fixed with some minimal sanding and some tung oil. The Action was ten miles high. there was some imperfections in the paint. I'd say step up the quality control and Squier could absolutely justify the price-tag. The Pickup tone reminds me of the geezer butler EMG's as far attack goes. the Low B register is a bit muddy and could be corrected with a better pre-amp. You could get a better Ibanez, Schecter, Jackson, or ESP/LTD for a better price certainly. But I feel like this bass has massive potential if you are willing to deal with some minor stuff. It has the great P/J mid-growl. and when ran with the pre-amp it gives so much power to the tone. Add a Darkglass alpha/omicron and this bass brings so much thundering brutality. I run mine into a 2000 watt head, 4x10 and an 1x18. Yes overkill I know IDGAF it makes for an impressive sound.

I was blown away and totally surprised by the look of the bass totally professional looking and playing abilities. It's a little on the heavy side for me, but overall, I would recommend it even to fit in in my arsenal collations... really nice, I also think it could have a better preamp, awesome job.
