"Great Bass For The Value"

I had been going back and forth about buying this bass. For the past 10+ years I have played a Fender Geddy Lee Jazz Bass (CIJ model) as my main instrument and have been extremely happy with it. I recently started thinking about getting and active electronics Jazz to help get a rounder tone and greater flexibility of sound but did not want to spend a lot of money for what I planned on being another "second" bass that I would play occasionally. After a lot of research on line, as well as playing the 5 string version of this bass at my local music store, I decided to take a chance and ordered it form zZounds on line. The bass was shipped immediately and arrived in just a few days. Upon pulling the bass out I was very surprised at my initial inspection of the bass. The fit and finish is excellent with no gaps and solid construction. The matte black finish is beautiful and has no blemishes. The only concern out of the box was the active tone pot was a little bit lose but that was a quick fix. After tuning it up and running a quick set up (I will give it a month to adjust and then fun another one after it has had a chance to settle) I found the bass to be very responsive with a nice wide tonal range. I found it easy to dial in my preferred Geddy Jazz growl and just as easy to run to the opposite side of the spectrum to a nice smooth and dark low end with lots of range between. Great sound. It is a bit heavier (about 3lbs) than my Geddy but still very comfortable to play. The fret ends need a bit of additional dressing but that can be forgiven for the price. If your looking for great first bass with active electronics or a great second (third, fourth...and beyond) bass this one is worth the look.

I must say I was a bit on the fence about this bass, but after o received it I was instantly hooked. The sound is amazing looks very nice as well. We'll set up for play right out the box for most. I tweaked it just a hare for thicker gauge string's and BEAD tunning. I play in church ( Gospel) and it's perfect. A bit on the heavy side for my liking but a very small detail to really keep me from playing everytime I'm out. I'm completely satisfied with this bass. It's become my go to. I have no complaint's so haven't had to use support.

I bought my son the flat black bass 2 months ago and when I saw the flat white, I just had to order it. Jeff was an awesome sales rep and helped me get this bass fast. You will not be disapointed with this bass guitar.
