I joined a popular cover band a few months ago and have since been on a search for the most versatile and comfortable guitar I could find. Usually I prefer hard tail Gibson style guitars but many songs in our set need a whammy bar so I purchased a MiM Fender with a vintage trem. While I really like that guitar it is prone to going out of tune pretty frequently thoughout our 3 and 4 hour long sets. This Squier Contemporary model plays every bit as nice as the MiM Fender but with the added bonus of amazing tuning stability via the Floyd Rose. Only work i did out of the box was lower the action just a bit but it was perfectly playable out of the gate, even with near perfect intonation. No complaints about the pickups either they sound wonderful. Only concern is if You really prefer skinny necks because this one is rather chunky. Like i said I am coming from playing mainly Gibsons so a chunky neck feels quite good to me already but its something to mention.
