My first 5 string. Great entry level bass
Sound
Been a player for 40 years and this is my first 5 string. Having said that, I like the bass. I own a 4 string Doug Wimbish Spector which is a different animal.....If I had to do it all over I would buy a 5 string with wider string spacing....but as an entry level 5 string this is hard to beat I believe. The tonal possibilities are limited, though. I would recommend it on the over all.....
Features
As an entry level instrument for someone who wants to the additional lower register....absolutely. Keep in mind though that string spacing matters. If you have larger hands, I would maybe lean toward a P Bass actually.
Ease of Use
Love it as it is priced well for what it is. I play a whole array of different styles . This bass meets my needs for down tuning for sure.
Quality
Plan to keep this one. Also, having played several other brands of 5 string basses since my purchase I would suggest playing one before laying down the cash. There are some great differences of courser.
Value
Definitely worth the price I paid.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't ever had to contact Spector...knock wood.
The Wow Factor
I believe this bass is priced appropriately. I own more basses than I should ( a bakers dozen at this point).....as my only 5 string it fits for sure.
