"This unit is good for simple set-up and start the gig. You won't have to worry about all the other crap. Just plug in and play."

I hope it holds out. I have blown out PA's before, so I don't want to go thru that again.
Sound
Sounds very nice with Peavey PR12's. It works fine so far with a 3 piece band. The sound seems to be consistent, although a bit of a learning curve.
Features
No acc.
Ease of Use
Very easy to set-up and gig. Just follow the directions and you can bi-amp to do a monitor set-up. Very easy. You don't seem to lose too much signal at 500 Watts per side. I always have a problem getting good delay and reverb on manual units. This one does it all for you, and this is fine with me. One less thing to worry about.
Quality
So far the quality is very good. No glitches. I am sure it could be used on the "road" The knobs can be a little difficult to see if it is dark. Just prop it up with an amp "wedge" and you are good to go.
Value
So far it is a great value. For 8 channels you could buy something else, but you will pay a few hundred $$ more for it.
Manufacturer Support
Have not had to call them!
The Wow Factor
Who cares, it works.

"gigrac 1000, great bang for the buck!"

I bought a used Gigrac 1000 a few years ago because of it's power and the fact that it has 8 channels. I used it for a 5 piece band and an acoustic duo. It was very reliable for the most part and i was happy with the sound. It started to cut off as soon as I turned it on, but if I waited a second or two and turned it back on it would then work fine without any other issues. I later got a great deal on a Mackie system with speakers so I ended up selling the gigrac. Three years later I find myself shopping for a new gigrac 1000 for a couple reasons. First, I'm not thrilled with the sound my Mackie is producing. Second, the gigrac is smaller and easier to transport. Finally, the gigrac sounds as good as The Mackie for about half the price. I also love the inputs (they take both 1/4" and XLR.) The only consistent negative comment I read about this mixer is that the fan is kinda loud. Well, if you are playing music through it that shouldn't be a problem. I think the fact that I am selling my Mackie head in order to get another gigrac 1000 tells you all you need to know about how I feel about it.

"A quiet riot."

I do not expect to replace it unless it breaks.
Sound
Quiet and powerful. Full sound with JBL srx 15 ludspeakers.
Features
Self contained, cover, carry strap, color coded simplicity. Great for gigging and on the fly adjustments.
Ease of Use
Piece of cake. Sure it does not have all the bells and whistles some may want but it does what I want well--ease of setup, ease of operation and great sound.
Quality
I haven't had this long so time will tell how it will hold up but the cost of the unit and the fit and finish, metal work, plastic case, heck even the stickers are cool. Made in China is always a question but if I wanted one made in USA I would have to spend a heck of a lot more. Other than Carvin, who mass produces powered mixers in the US?
Value
Lots of quiet power for the money and very attractive package too.
Manufacturer Support
No comment as the unit has been trouble free. Having read other reviews, support appears to be a strong point in the event of a problem.
The Wow Factor
Its cool looking and the astehtic of the desgign is very pleasing.

I am a DJ and recently bought the Gigrac mixer along with a pair of Behringer BD215XL speakers. This mixer is not only great looking it's light and portable with the "Tsunami Proof" case and carrying strap! The 7 band EQ let's me dial in the sound exactly as i like it and the effects are awesome! Just DJ's my first wedding with it and it was a HUGE success! Love it!
