"Very Good Guitar For The Price"

I am a Strat guy, I own four of them. I play mostly Blues/Jazz styles. I wanted to add another guitar that had that jazzy hollow body sound. After a lot of research, I chose the Sire Larry Carlton H7 Black. ZZounds delivered very quickly. I'm impressed. Out of the box, just needed tuned. The craftmanship appears excellent. It is a loud guitar, both acoustically and plugged in. Very sweet sound, nice jazzy tones. Fretboard is very smooth. The fret spacing is different than a Strat, so some adjustment for me. Spacing is slightly smaller at higher frets. Cosmetically a beautiful guitar. No buzzing. I'm very happy with this purchase.

This is hands down the best guitar I've ever owned. I've recently sold a couple of fender tele ultra's as I am planning to get the Sire H7V with P90s when it comes back in stock and the new one, I think is H7F. Its got the filtertrons in it and a bigsby. Anyway, this guitar is simply the best!

Waiting with much anticipation! My, H7 Vintage sunburst, is Back Ordered at the moment! I feel like a kid at Christmas time, waiting for, Fed-ex Santa to come sliding into the driveway! Or maybe an expecting father! I’ve already got the case on the way, it’ll be here tomorrow! Will update when this arrives! That foreigner song “ I’ve been waiting” keeps popping into my head for some reason! Sorry for babbling on ,but, I have watched every video on this guitar that I could find, and the fact that, Larry Carlton, plays this very guitar when he performs at his shows now, speaks volumes too me!Thanks, Larry, Sire, and, zZounds for the opportunity to own one of these beautifully crafted instruments! I will give a detailed review upon arrival! Sincerely, Jeffrey Carleton.

"Great guitar, but needs work"

After reading the reviews, watching the videos, and listening to the comparisons, I decided on the Sire H7. I looked in my area, but didn't find any to play, so I took a chance with ordering from zZounds, sight unseen. The guitar arrived a few days later, as expected, and it's really pretty beautiful. I'm very pleased there. Unlike some of the reviews I saw online, the finish work was very clean; no speckles, messy joints, or finish checks. I have to say, the finish is excellent. However —and I knew this going in —it's some sort of poly finish, not nitro, and I really wish it weren't. At some point in the future, I may have it stripped and refinished, but who knows. As I do with all my guitars, I it to my local repair guys —12th Fret in Portland —to do a complete inspection and set up for my preferred feel. As I knew (and as I expected, based everything I'd read), the action was high. What I didn't expect was that two of the frets were high, and will need fixed, which greatly increased the cost of my visit to the luthier, so for me it's really a $900 guitar, not a $700 guitar. Gone are the days of retailers making sure their guitars are up to snuff, I guess. The sound is really what I expected. I play through either my UAD system using the Fender 55 Tweed Unison plugin, or through a miked Fender Bassbreaker 15 amp, and it's pretty even-toned across the spectrum. I haven't played it enough yet to find all the strong and weak spots, but the sound really works in my mixes, so I'm happy there.
