"SHURE E2 IN EARS - GREAT VALUE!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)

Very satisfied - in fact, I'm about to order another one for our acoustic guitar player.
Sound
Very good sound. Perhaps a bit week on the very low end, but I primarily use it to hear electric/acoustic guitars, piano and vocals and the sound is very good. I went from using floor monitors to using these in ears and I'll NEVER go back. It sounds like a live concert in my ears - awesome!
Features
Features are more than adequate for in-ears in this price range. Comes with a variety of earpiece fittings, very comfortable to wear.
Quality
I have been using them for about 6 months, with no quality issues. They still work fine, no cable issues or earbud issues.
Value
Great value for the money. I used other earbuds that were either too cheap, stuck out too far, sounded poor, etc. I have also seen others that cost a lot more money. These give a good sound, good fit, good value for the money. Great entry to mid level product. I'll never go back to floor monitors!
Manufacturer Support
I have not needed any support, so I don't know.
The Wow Factor
The price grabbed me right away. I was looking at $200 to $500 solutions, this one works great for about $99. CAN'T BEAT IT! Did I mention that I'll never go back to floor monitors again?

"Look at other solutions. The E2 is WAY overrated!!!"

Overall: 1 out of 5 stars

Wish I never bought them. I will sell them on ebay for a loss since they were used about 30 minutes.
Sound
Based on the hipe, I'm disappointed. The E2 has no low end in it and the highs are harsh. If you need good sounding kick drum or bass then skip right over the E2 and E3. I own both and would return them for a refund if I could. The low end below 120Hz is weak. If you're looking for the bass to "boom" it won't happen. If you add low end EQ they break-up. You can successfully roll off the high end to get rid of the harshness. However, unless you have and inline EQ it will impact the mix you're sending to the house. My personal opinion is the sound is WAY overrated. On the positive side, they do block out about 90% of the volume of an acoustic drum kit so the sealing aspect is quite good.
Features
It doesn't really come with any features. It would be nice if it came with a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter. BUT IT DOESN'T!!!
Quality
they reasonably well made for what you pay for them. The sound quality is not take must better then teh average $12 earbud.
Value
I'd like try some other in-ear products but since you can't try before you buy that's a bit cost prohibitive. Value I'd have to say disappointing
Manufacturer Support
I emailed Shure to return the units since they don't perform as advertised. While they have a 30-day, no questions asked return policy if you buy from their website, they don't honor it if you buy through a retailer. Basaically it's "Sorry you bought something that doesn't perform as advertised but you still own it. Cha-Ching!!! thanks for playing" return policy.
The Wow Factor
Wish I simply bought some good headphones. For the same money they wouldl have sounded better and I could try before I buy and even return it if I changed my mind later.

"Great sound! Makes a great first set of I.E.M's for people who want to experience with the concept, but it ain't all that's wire"

Overall: 3.5 out of 5 stars

Sound
These sound really good. I originally bought'em to replace big/bulky stage monitoring setups (and never went back to them, thank god). Placement and fitting is what dictates the sound from these phones, I.O.W If you don't get the best-fitting ear-buds and place them perfectly along the ear-canal you're not gonna hear their full potential, that's just routine with in-ears.
Quality
Here's the bummer. These babies aren't very durable. The cable is cheap just like the one in any cd-player headphones, which means that it will start mal-contacting near the connectors after a while. If that wasn't bad enough, the actual body of one of my ear-buds has come undone during a live pertformance. I was able to re-glue it later on but that repair was short-lived
Value
My phones were worth every penny and i greatly enjoyed them until they started giving me trouble. It's an excellent value for someone looking for an entry-level price to the world of In Ear Monitors, but durability is sacrificed. If you're looking for great, top quality phones to be with you onstage or anywhere else for a long time, follow the advice from one of the guys below and save up for an E5.
Manufacturer Support
The people at shure were very helpful over the phone. However, the single-rate repair fee for these phones is $55... which is preety silly for fixing a faulty cable
The Wow Factor
Very atractive and appealing, but again, the poor construction leaves something to be desired.
