I'll be honest, I have yet to try out any of the other mics other than the bass mic which has been excellent. The Beta is a wonderful mic for any drummer to use.

"Shure DMK5752 Drum mic package"

I have a 7 piece Gretsch drumset that came with top and bottom heads. Since I prefer single head drums, I swapped out the bottom heads with mesh heads, giving me the open drum sound, yet retaining the hoops for structural integrity. I mounted the mic clamps to the bottom rim, facing up at the mesh head on the bottom. This works excellently, and the clamps are simple to mount and solid. For the kick drum I mounted the Beta 52 on a short boom and it fits the size of the Kickport perfectly. I have since bought three more mic clamps ( shure a56d ) for the rest of the drums. As for the mic quality, they are great. I have recorded my drums and they sound terrific. SM 57's- What can I say. The best part of this setup is that the mics are at the bottom of the drums, and out of the way. Only the snare mic is top mounted.

"Hardware"

The hardware that comes with these are not very versatile for the mic placement and positioning. They also vibrate apart in the middle of recording/playing. If you buy these mics I’d recommend getting a separate hardware pack otherwise it’s useless. Kinda upsetting this is being sold to people. $400 is $400 and I would expect everything to work and function properly for that money. Mics sounds like classic SM’s, so no complaint there. To be 100% honest I would just spend the extra money and buy the Audix mic package. They sound great with little to no processing and the hardware is great.

"Just Not Really Built For Drums - I think they put good rim clamps on an "All Purpose" body (SM57) and called it a drum mic."

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
next time I will look itno an Audix or Seinhizer mic system - until I find a quality sound and a "Design" for drums...
Sound
incredible sound - always -
Features
AWESOME mounting system - heavy duty
Ease of Use
This is my problem..... This kit sets up well and is easy to use, but they have plastic grills on the ends and these are to be used for drums. If you get one mis-positioned and hit it, be prepared to spend some time searching for a new grill - they bust @ 20$ each. I have done this twice now and it sucks busting a $100 microphone open. Also the body of an sm57 can come unscrewed, and that shows up in the sound as a vibration.
Quality
I will give a 10 for quality, but i just dont think the 57's are best choice tom/snare mics because they break if the get hit....next time i am gonna look into Audix for tom / snare mics.......The Beta Kick is Incredible! no problems there. I am also using a Beta 52 above my largest two toms....sounds very full.
Value
it is expensive to replace busted parts - expensive mics that break - 57 is excellent for guitar amps etc....
Manufacturer Support
havent used it
The Wow Factor
kinda chunky.....
