2 separate reviews here. One for the pickup and one for zZounds. I’m very happy with my purchase of the Seymour Duncan TB6 Distortion pickup. I had a SD Full Shred in my guitar and liked it a lot. Clarity, tone and very punchy. I wanted something with just a bit more push and mids while giving a touch more bottom end without losing the punch to mud or getting boomy. Usually high output pick ups can tend to bring on the mud. I don’t know how Seymour Duncan did it, but there’s absolutely no mud to this pickup at all being a high output distortion class ‘bucket. The bottom end remains very tight and punchy. The mids give your rhythms plenty of grind while the sweet high-end makes your leads absolutely soar. It’s definitely a keeper and staying in my guitar. Now for zZounds. I ordered the pickup at 9:30pm Thursday night and it was on my doorstep by 3:00pm on Sunday afternoon. They provide free 2 day shipping. You CANNOT beat that. They were very fast in processing and shipping my order. They’ve done this on ever purchase I’ve made. zZounds has become my go-to place to shop for my gear. I've had this many guitars. This is a very powerful pickup. It's almost too much in many instances if you're not playing straight up metal. I had a noise problem with it even when turning down the volume knob because it's so high output. I think it's really good, but a little buzzy or bright for me. The custom 5 I thought was better. Not as powerful maybe, or just different.
