I put this on my squier stratocaster with a ssl1 rwrp in the bridge and a ssl 2 in the neck. I have this pickup split coil in position 4. Fantastic tone. It really adds a little more oomph when I need it. My tech set the pickups up well for me so the volume of all 3 is pretty similar, but this thing handles effects differently than my single coils. I still wouldn't play metal on this pickup, but it sounds great playing rock. At first I thought it sounded thin and muted and I wasn't happy with it. I've been playing on it for a few weeks now. After messing with effects and playing around with it for a while, I am actually really starting to love it. It takes a little more tinkering than some of my more heavy style metal humbuckers but it does so much more even if it doesn't sound great super growly. It loves overdrive and reverb. Overall I think I might like this the least of of my 3 new pickups but it just matches them so well and it's still wonderful. I can get any tone I want with enough tinkering but throw some gain on this bad boy and play some Van Halen or some BB King and you're not going to be disappointed. I also bought the nickel covered Trembucker. It looks great. Just realize that if you want this, make sure your pickguard can handle the size of these things. The Trembucker is huge, especially the covered one. I ended up buying a custom pickguard just for this pickup. Don't be a dummy like me haha. Measure! Most pickguards are not big enough for these guys.
