Sennheiser e604 Mic Customer Review

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Great tone, a little hardier construction would be nice though
Sound
Great sound on toms, bottom of snare (with a 57 on top) and on guitar amps it works a treat too
Features
Clips are great, and reduce the over all price by negating the need to buy stands
Ease of Use
Clip it on and go, very little EQ needed
Quality
904 seems to have a better build quality, but IMO 604s have a nicer sound
Value
For under AU$400 for 3 and with out the need to buy stands, these things rock
Manufacturer Support
never needed, can't say
The Wow Factor
Bang for buck the best tom/guitar mic I've used

I bought the 3 pack and they came with the clips that fit my drum rims great. They sound awesome for the live playing that I do. I have had these for about a month and there great mics so far.

"You get what you pay for"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
In short "You get what you pay for" In the past I purchased less expensive Mic packs and yes they worked until I paid attention to detail, bleed though, sound quality, feed back ect, The Sennheiser E604 (bought in the 3 pack) deliver on every level. I have a large drum kit with an array of low lined cymbals these Mics with a right angle XLR cable fit perfect. They're rugged, the clips mount well to the rim. Excellent buy!!!

"Great sound."

Great sound. I believe that it gives a more natural representation of my snare and toms than an SM57. Great small size and compact rim clip don't get in the way or limit the ability to closely position other instruments near this mic. It has some positioning limitations when using it with the included rim mount due to the mic cable. A 90 degree mic cable would point the wrong direction and would be difficult to use with this mic while mounted on the included rim mount.
Sound
Great sound. Gives a more natural sound on the snare than an SM57. Also sounds great on toms. I would recommend it over a 57 for live and recording applications.
Features
It has a nice rim mount. After some creative adjusting, you can get it pretty close to where you want it. It has some positioning limitations when using it with the included rim mount due to the mic cable. A 90 degree mic cable would point the wrong direction and would be difficult to use with this mic while mounted on the included rim mount. It is small enough that it doesn't get in the way like some of the other drum mics out there.
Ease of Use
It has some positioning limitations when using it with the included rim mount due to the mic cable. A 90 degree mic cable would point the wrong direction and would be difficult to use with this mic while mounted on the included rim mount.
Value
The MSRP price point is a little high for this mic. I own several and will probably buy more as my needs change.
The Wow Factor
Great, small package. Does not get in the way when positioning it on the drumkit.

Sennheiser e604 Mic Customer Review

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Quality
I use these mics all the time for toms. they are very easy to fit on most drum kits. not needing a stand or a clunky drum claw really makes them a breeze to use. the only issue is if the get wacked by an overzealous drummer, the capsule can come out of the shell. there really isn't a whole lot you can do besides tape or glue them back in. i'll buy more though.
