"Best Non-American made Bass I have ever played."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I plan on using this for a very long time. My main bass is the 4003 Ric but I use this together with that at shows.
Sound
The bass has a very nice overall tone...think Warwick meets Carvin. Very wood-like. It is also very diverse due to the EMG Pickups. You can dial in just about anything.
Features
Great hardware, very nice bridge (definitely an upgrade in both departments from the older stilettos). Binding is a nice addition and the neck thru is like butter.
Ease of Use
Probably the most comfortable bass I own. I own a few and this just has the best feel overall.
Quality
As mentioned before, the older Stiletto series had some crappy hardware and this is a much better upgrade. The finish is amazing. Pickups are a good match for this bass and the fretboard is smooth as can be. Very fast and the action was pretty low which scared me at first but I grew into it and now I wouldn't have it any other way.
Value
In closing, this is well worth the $800 price tag. I own a '96 American P, A 4002 Ric and an '84 Peavey Fury and this is a great addition. It is probably the only "Modern" style bass I will ever use.
Manufacturer Support
Never had to deal with them, so I wouldn't know
The Wow Factor
It is drop dead gorgeous...........

"Stiletto Elite 5 Rocks!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Tested this one for a couple of hours up against a Music Man S.U.B. five-string; the sound was a toss-up, but the Schecter won hands down on ergonomics - much better neck, lighter by at least a pound, and the sexy curves (tummy cut and forearm cut) make the MM feel like a log. Best five-string anywhere close to this price range - it's a keeper.
Sound
Solid low B, excellent upper registers, and solid in between. Only minor drawback is the lack of a midrange control, but a good preamp will solve that anyway. Has great range of tones as is.
Features
Best neck-thru five string for the money, and better than some more expensive basses. The neck is slim and easy to play. The gold hardware is fine, EMG Hz active PU's are great. One of the most comfortable fives I've played (including Music Man, Spector and Warwick). The stock GHS roundwound strings are a good set, although I prefer a slightly heavier low B.
Quality
This is about as good as it gets - excellent example of how good the quality of Korean workmanship has become. Finish is spotless, hardware solid, fretboard smooth as silk, and very good fretwork for a non-custom. The setup (done in beautiful downtown Burbank) was spot-on, with very low action and no buzzing anywhere on the neck.
Value
This has to be the steal of the decade - a solid, gutsy neck-thru five string for under $600 street price!
Manufacturer Support
Haven't needed service yet, but the folks at customer service are friendly and will answer even dumb questions.
The Wow Factor
The tummy and forearm curves and the slim neck fit me like a glove; the feel of this bass is what clinched it for me. The rich honeyburst color and gold hardware are great on stage - it's a sure head-turner in any musical crowd.

"Schecter Stiletto elite 5 is a gift from God"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
My life, and for all eternity will this bass inherit. I dont need to look for any other bass, and I have no reason to. For this price and quality, I am satisfied.
Sound
This bass has some serious response. I can't belive the sound I get outta this thing. It pumps the blues, it swings the jazz, and it beats the rap. Anything you need to play, any style, this bass accomplishes. For the price and the quality, nothing compares or adds up to this perfect and beautiful creation of God. I give praise to it's makers, Schecter.
Features
Every item on this bass ironically is "elite." I can't deny the fact that I am jealous that it looks better and sounds better than me. Everything about it, down to the smallest splinter of wood, is perfection.
Quality
I will say it again in different categories. Perfection. It looks and sounds the exact same. Beautiful . It just gives me everything I ever wanted and needed. Any gig you have, this bass is easy to get together and play any style you need. It is elite, it is perfection, it is the stiletto elite 5. Thats all that needs to be said. I give more praise to Schecter.
Value
The price is a steal. Why pay 1000 or more for a warwick when you can get this for only 600-700. This competes with any other bass I have put it up against. Warwich is great, Schecter elite 5 is better.
Manufacturer Support
I dont even need to call them. The Bass takes care of itself. If I ever need to, I believe that someone who makes a bass like this, doesn't need to be consulted.
The Wow Factor
If this bass were bangable, I would abng it. It is sexy and smooth, both in it's sounds and looks. I drool when I pick it up.

"Well done Schecter."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Great bass. I was lucky enough to pick it up for like $450, which was a steal. Highly recommended to anyone from beginner to professional. Makes a great backup bass or main setup.
Sound
Very versitile sound. You can pinpoint any tone you're looking for with the Active EQ. Also, nice crisp sustain with the neck through design. Also, the high end is crystal clear. Sometime's it's almost too clear, but nothing that the plethera of knobs can't fix.
Features
Active electronics, gold hardware, neck through design, and 5 strings, all for under $600. Very good for the budget minded musician.
Ease of Use
Very easy to use. I did not receive a manual with it as I bought is slightly used. But with a little bit of tinkering, the 5 or so knobs can be figured out.
Quality
Very good quality. I love endorsing Schecter because of their quality setup right from the factory. These guys are great. I also own 2 Schecter electric guitars and I'm sold on Schecter for the price range.
Value
Phenominal value. Highly recommended to anyone....whether you're on a budget or not.
Manufacturer Support
I have never had any problems with this bass except when my strap locks stripped out from the end of the guitar. Nothing a little epoxy couldn't fix.
The Wow Factor
I wanted this bass the first time I saw it. Very appealing to the eyes and ears alike. Great features and quality for the price.

about a month
Sound
amazing
Features
the features are quite good, but the tone and volume controls are bare,it has no numbered markings so its a lot harder 2 get the right tone at a gig or in a hurry!!!
Quality
the fixings on the neck and the boady keep coming loose, the overall look is really nice,it would be suitable for the road if you look after it well(from experience!!!)
Manufacturer Support
never tried 2 contact them
The Wow Factor
i have one in black and it looks really,it feels really nice to play!!!

Schecter Stiletto Elite 5 Customer Review

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
The wood is nice and resonant...yeah, I know, Warwick is the "wood" bass...try this one anyway. The controls are versatile enough to get it to sound just about any way you want. I can get the "Pete Way Thunderbird" sound, then twiddle the eq knobs and get that Warwick sex-growl or even the old Ric "bwoom" thump-twang. I use it with a Hartke 3500 Head and VX 215 cab for all occasions - no pedals or signal altering crap other than an old Sonic Maximizer. You can keep your fancy rack for aesthetic purposes, but you won't really need to plug anything in. No reason to spend more money on a lesser instrument...
Features
I like the big strap buttons - no real need for strap locks. The tuners work well, and are just touchy enough to not make you angry while dialing in an intonation reset. Pickups are great. Fretboard is nice and skinny, the fretwork is very well done, the top position markers are easily seen, and the thru-neck is butter the whole way to fret 24. Gold work sucks...plain and simple. Not this guitar's fault...all gold work sucks. It wears off and looks like crap. I also wish Schecter would put an active/passive switch on it. (Im nitpicking now)
Ease of Use
See above.
Quality
After over a year of owning this and carting around an extra bass to gigs, I got rid of my extra. I literally own one 5 string now - and I don't need another.
Value
Buy it. Period.
Manufacturer Support
I'll say 10 but never had to use them.
The Wow Factor
Feels great. Top horn not intrusive and lines up well with fret 12. Looks great...though not very "metal" when playing around guys with Jackson V's and Explorers. Oh well, I still look and sound better than the Fender guys!

"Simply the Best"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Always and forever
Sound
This bass sound great, gives me almost everything i want in tone. One of the best basses I've ever owned
Features
This bass comes ready even for the gear snobs. Good pickups by EMG, great woods. The tuners are a lil weak, but the do stay in tune, so all in all not too bad. My one big draw back is the finish it looks great, but it is are for me to keep it looking good, it scratches easy
Ease of Use
I traded a Ibanez BTB405q for this, and i went from the rack to the stage with this bass. Now I ask is that easy or what.
Quality
IMHO you would have to spend about $1000.00 more to get the same quality as this bass. I call it a poor mans Spector, because it has all the qualities of a Spector, with more than half the price.
Value
IMHO this bass is not worth what they ask for it, it is worth more, but heck I love the price.
Manufacturer Support
I've never needed them I've had this bass for over two years.
The Wow Factor
When I first saw this bass i was like, dayum thats a good looking bass, but when I heard it I was like dayuuuuum, now when I play ppl are like WTF. Thants right I don't want it I got it. cry two tears in a bucket, MF it.
