"Beautiful tone beasty!"

Because of the small issue with the battery cover (I would recommend they upgrade to a molded battery container with a hinged cover) I have to rate this a 9 overall.
Sound
TONE! This thing tone beast! I like it when you can hear the tone of a bass when it's NOT plugged into an amp....the Riot sounds great just playing it unplugged. Plug it in then hold on to your ears....this ax has so much expressiveness. The EMGs are magic and though some will say it's limited with only 2-band active EQing, there's a sound in there to please anybody.
Features
It came with a new cord....a short cord but, hey!, it's another cord in my gig bag. The tuners work well and I prefer the black chrome over regular chrome or fake gold any day.
Ease of Use
What else needs to be said....EMG-HZs, 2-Band EQ, blend, and volume. The range of tone you can get from this rig is incredible.
Quality
The pictures you can see on the web make the matte finish look deceptively unnattractive but let me tell you...this bass is gorgeous! The fit and finish is top notch. My only complaint is with the battery cover...one of the screws came cross threded into the brass insert they use in the body. The brass instert was installed at a funny angle causing the problem.
Value
I got this dude for a dollar over 5 benji's...whattya think?
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had the need to call them.
The Wow Factor
See quality....it's a 10.

"The Number 1 Must Own Bass Under $500"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)

I will own this bass for many years to come I'm sure. The only reason I will be shopping for another bass is to go to a 5er.
Sound
I love the EMG HZ's in this bass. I tend to set the blend to the neck pickup more heavily for a full and boomy bottom end. This is just my preference for the style I play but there is plenty of versatility for any style. The sustain is amazing with the neck through design.
Features
Best feature is the active EQ. Again, combined with the pickup blend abaility, it provides versatility for just about any tone quality you could want.
Ease of Use
Setup straight from the factory was perfect. Low action but no sacrifice of sustain.
Quality
Finish is beautiful. I own the dark cherry. Hardware and electronics are equal to and surpass anything in this price range.
Value
Nothing comes close in this price range.
Manufacturer Support
I have not needed support but am rating at 10 based on all of the other qualities of this bass and the Schecter reputation. I did speak with Zzounds prior to my order and they were terrific.
The Wow Factor
Sexiest instrument I have ever owned.
