"A steal for the price"

This is my second Schecter guitar. Over the years I've heard how Schecter is not considered a "good guitar company" so I tried to avoid it at all cost, spending a lot of my money on Fender guitars. Boy was I wrong and missing out on these awesome guitars. This Nick Johnston model is far way better than any MIM Fender Stratocaster. One of my buddies bought a MIM Fender Strat recently and I played it for a few minutes, and man you can feel and hear the difference instantly. You can feel the cheapness on the Fender just by touching it. NJ strat is beautiful, the quality is top notch, it feels and plays great, the action is nice and low, the locking tuners (something the MIM Fender models dont have) do their job perfectly. I prefer this guitar over any MIM Fender Strat. If you are thinking of buying this guitar, go ahead and spend that extra $100, you won't regret it.

I have been wanting a strat for a while but want a non fender version. I looked at the Music man, and G&L.....nice guitars but didn't quite do it for me. I figured I would give this one a try because it looked nice but wasn't sure if I would like a Schecter because of the "shred guitar" stereotype they have. This is now my favorite guitar in a stable of guitars that cost up to 3x as much. The neck is thinner than what I'm used to but doesn't feel weird, the super flat fretboard (14" I think) is different feeling but in a good way, and the roasted maple neck looks great and has the smoothest finish to it of any neck I've ever played. The fit and finish is incredible with no real flaws to be found. The pickups sound good....what you would expect, it sounds like a strat. I'm actually think about buying a Schecter LP style guitar now since I'm so impressed with this one.

This thing is great, I've had it for about six months now so I figured I can give it a pretty honest review......I can't put it down. Over the past year or so I've become interested in more "modern" takes on the classics and this is my first purchase going on this idea. It's absolutely great, nice flat fretboard, locking tuners, roasted maple neck that is soooo smooth, etc. It's better than any strat I've ever had and wayyyyy cheaper. This is making me think that I might be a Schecter guy now. Looking forward to trying a tele and LP made by schecter now.

"Just a Great Guitar"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I've been playing for 30 years I've had many guitars. Fender Strat, Les Pauls etc...this Nick Johnson is unbelievable for the price. I think down the road people will be looking for these guitars like they are the Japanese made Fender Strats. I would compare this to American made Strat for half the price. The NJ Custom Shop Platinum is almost identical and is selling for $3500.

What is there not to like about this guitar is well made sounds great and all the thing you would do to this guitar are all ready do basically walking toners rock maple roasted neck Ebony fretboard two point tremolo system I’ve been playing guitar for about 45 years and this is definitely a keeper I got a Lotta guitars but this guitar is definitely a keeper when I can open up the box take it out and strum it and all most in tune and it has a low action and this I s a plus locking tuners everything is real awesome Ebony fretboard Nice paint everything is just great for the price you cannot go wrong so do you have the money and you want to guitar that’s gonna last a lifetime this is it and like I said usually I’m changing strings taken off the tone is replacing them with locking tuners taken out the tremolo system you know it’s like I don’t need this or want this I don’t like this and everything that I like is in baby and like I said this is a keeper

I have had it for a week now, and I couldn't be happier with it. Sounds and plays excellent and the quality is flawless. My only complaint is that it wasn't very playable out of the box. Almost like it was set up for slide. I kind of expected a better set up for $800.

This guitar exceeded every expectation I had for it. I've been a fender player mostly since I grew out of my "metal-ish" stage about 10 years ago and turned to more "pretty sounding things" haha. One thing I always wanted was one of my favorite brands to provide a more traditional option for those of us that have moved on from the scene but still have a fondness for the brand. This is exactly what I wanted. I didn't even know who Nick Johnston was to be honest, I just saw this atomic green beauty and had to have it. I haven't been able to put it down. For $749 you get so much. I would've easily paid over $1k for this not knowing it was made in Indonesia. Completely impressed and will never let this one go.

"Decent guitar but not worth the $$"

Overall: 2.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Got this guitar in the blue/green finish. Action was lousy Edges were not rolled Pickups were not adjusted correctly. But I like the neck and playability. Very strat-y. Quacks in 2&4SRV on the front p/uNice bridge p/u tone too. It can scream. Just upset that a $500 Cort g290 came with rolled edges, nice fretwork and action set nicely. This guitar is hundreds more and doesn’t have the same feel. I’d put your $$ in a used Pacifica. 2.5 out of 5
