I kicked around the possibility of buying this guitar for a few weeks and when I finally pulled the trigger on it I was amazed at how perfect it really is, I know quality instruments come out of Korea they have been in the industry for over 30 years now and have gained a reputation but to be clear, this guitar is equal in quality and standard to my Paul Reed Smith 408 which is imo the most pleasurable instrument I've ever played and the way it looks in person is astonishing, the only way I can explain it is beautiful in a very dark and ominous way, and this thing plays like a dream. It's more than capable of pumping out any genre of music but when you pick up this beast of a guitar and slide your hand down it's satin set thru neck it's going to compel you to do two things, crank up the gain and shred.

Musical Background:

I've played guitar for almost 6 years, I've messed with drums and piano but mainly guitar and I jam at home.

Musical Style:

Heavy Metal and blues

Photos don't really show the depth of color in the Crimson/Blue model. There is a lot of Purple as well. That aside, the playability is top notch. Notes sing with brightness and sustain. Electronics are quiet at low volume, have not really cranked it yet. Wide variety of tones (and levels) available at the flick of two switches. Basically two three way switches. One selects either or both pickups, the other setts the voicing for both pickups. Three basic voicings are Down: Passive Middle: Active Up: Split coil. As some stated, there is a bit of a learning curve with the electronics. You will be able to find the right sound for the situation once your are familiar. I have had three Schecters over the last 14 years now and this one is special! Definitely leans toward Metal but very versatile as well. Finally I have an instrument that leaves it up to me to be my best.

Mostly Metal but just about everything.

Most comfortable neck I’ve ever played. The Fishman picks and tone woods are very tight and expressive. Gorgeous burl top!

First, thanks to zZounds for all they’ve done to finally get me a perfect KM Artist. This guitar is just brilliant. If you look at the Schecter site you’ll see essentially the same guitar, except made in the USA, for $4700. Guitars made in Korea like this one are often outshining USA work. This guitar with the SS frets and compensated nut is amazing. The neck through is wonderful. The hardware is perfect. This guitar is WIN. If only it had an ever tune bridge it might be a holy grail.

Amazing amazing guitar!
Sound
The pickups in this guitar are crazy versatile. The single coil setting is the most organic sounding i have heard in any guitar. Ive played core PRS models with coil tap that dont sound as organic as these. The other 2 settings are both great for metal even though fishman has said the paf voicing is low output. I personally dont think it is. While KMs voicing is definitely the best for straight up metal tones my favorite is the paf voicing since it's the most versatile setting.
Features
The only guitar at this price point and a few tiers higher that can even come close to matching the features of this guitar is the ESP BW1. A neck thru guitar with a high mass bridge that has a brass block? sustain for days. USA made Custom Keith Merrow pickups, locking tuners, compensated nut, stainless steel frets, this guitar literally has the best part any brand can offer.
Ease of Use
Its very easy to get a great sound from this guitar. There is a learning curve with the voicings but after you get over that very small speed hump you will be able to dial in any tone you desire.
Quality
Mine came in flawless.
Value
You will find very few guitars with a denser feature for price than this guitar.
The Wow Factor
This guitar is beautiful first of all, the playability is amazing, no buzzing, no sharp edges, no tuning issues, no electrical or component issues, just plug in and play. This guitar will let you play your heart out never holding you back and it'll look great doing it.

Musical Background:

I have played for 9 years now. Not a professional but it is a passionate hobby.

Musical Style:

Rock, metal, jazz, pop, alternative, progressive.
