I've played for 30 years, owning and/or playing several different B.C. Rich, ESP LTD and Jackson within this price range but never tried a Schecter. What was I thinking?!? The Demon 6 blows everything other guitar I've played to smithereens with these active pick-ups. The clarity in the notes, whether clean or heavily distorted, is amazing with the sustain you want and need for metal. Really adds a major boost to your sound. Stays in tune quite nicely as well. The neck is very comfortable and as fast as you want it to be.The aged satin finish is truly something to behold, the craftsmanship is top notch along with the unique Gothic cross inlays. The grain of the wenge fretboard and black chrome hardware really finishes off the dark look of this menacing metal machine. Schecter is definitely a step above other brands for the price you pay. If you want a guitar with looks that kill, plays like a dream and produces sounds that will raise the dead get the Demon 6!I will point out that mine did not come "ready to play." The strings were tight against the first frets. I had to loosen truss rod quite a bit and lower the action, but now it plays and sounds perfectly. As far as zZounds goes, always great products, price and service. I just wish, as far as packaging goes, the outermost box had "this end up" arrows because mine was delivered upside-down and I worried it put strain on the guitar neck. zZounds will always be my go to place for musical equipment.

So in my 26 years of learning and playing guitar, this literally outplays, sounds and feels like a guitar out of its class and price! I have never played such an amazing sounding guitar! The active pickups That day installed on this guitar absolutely outweighs the competition! I would highly recommend this guitar to any beginner, intermediate and professional guitarist for awesome action, playability, sound and tuning! I would give this guitar a 10 out of 10!

Had this for about a year now. I slapped in the Fishman KSI pups (thanks to zZounds) and this turned into a real demon. I use it for D standard down to C tuning. Great purchase after a few tweaks. Lightweight, easy to play neck, good hardware and tuners.

So I've been playing schecters the entire time I've been playing guitar. Been playing around 16 years. And never have been disappointed by schecter...until i got this demon 6... But it's just because it has a warped neck or something. I'm not necessarily an expert when it comes to guitar tech and what not but there's definitely something wrong because it just doesn't feel right. And just by looking at it i can tell. Definitely happened before i got it considering i have not played it much at all mostly due to the neck but at first because i didn't wanna damage it. (How ironic) But yea sad to say I'm disappointed with this one.

If you play down-tuned metal or hard rock, you NEED to buy this guitar now, DO IT.
Sound
This guitar for the price is an absolute home run. I have played both high output passive humbuckers and EMG active pickups, these active pickups sit somewhere in between. It has a more brutal and organic chug and better cleans than an EMG in my opinion. This guitar does sound like a demon that can also be tamed to be a sweet angel. WIth low tunings, passive pickups can easily become muddy and underwhelming. Active pickups for lower tunings like drop C and below are essential, I don't care what anyone says. Unless you are playing a style of metal like doom metal or sludge, you NEED an active pickup for lower tunings. Active pickups make these lower tunings sound crisper and in your face by compressing the sound. Also if you play cleans your signal is already compressed and has a more powerful output to send through a large pedalboard.
Features
The most useful feature of this guitar is the active pickups for this price, you won't find another guitar with active pickups for this price, especially with this quality. This won't disappoint for down-tunned metal, even if you want to play cleans with it. It's more dynamic and passive sounding than EMGs but still retains that active quality. These active pickups are Seymour Duncan-designed blackouts that have just been made in Korea.
Ease of Use
Killer sounds right out of the box, set up great as well. I tuned this guitar to drop C immediately, put on new strings, and didn't have to do much setting up of the guitar at all. The guitar sounds like a metal beast with a soft side of nice-sounding cleans. It is compressed but I found that you can still use a tube screamer with these actives if you want.
Quality
This guitar is extremely well made, it's a Schecter after all. Schecter makes some of the best quality for the money guitars on the market right now. You can take that to the bank, literally.
Value
This guitar is absolutely worth the price and then some. Schecter has some of the best quality guitars out there, you won't be disappointed with them. This is the cheapest guitar that you can find active pickups in I believe, and it absolutely slays. Anyways, don't take my word, try one for yourself.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't needed to.
The Wow Factor
This guitar is metal looking from head to toe, it comes in black or red, it also has gothic inlays and active pickups. Schecter is known for its cool inlays and metal aesthetic, don't miss out on this awesome brand and its style, quality, and affordability.

Musical Style:

Metal and some ambient.
