I love this Guitar,Being my first FR ever Owned/even played I was able to watch a few videos and set this thing up ! Tuning stability has been amazing. I hang this guitar on wall and haven’t had to tweak the tuning in 2 weeks playing daily. I see some jabs online about the Floyd Rose Special, please note this is a hot rod addition with stainless steal parts and a brass block in back. I would put it up against most other for sure! Definitely recommend this guitar. My only gripe would be I had to flip the input jack pot, do to some poor connectivity issue.

"Great Guitar"

I had 2 other Schecter guitars (Reaper and a Synyster Custom) and loved the quality of the build and the sound they could produce. I got the Banshee because I was looking for a 81/60 guitar for Metal and wow did I make the proper decision. Guitar was right on time, double boxed and absolutely flawless. I did have a learning curve with the active pickups and I really love these 81/60s. I have had the guitar now for 16 or 17 months and these Schecters amaze me how long they will stay in tune and Im very heavy handed. Once you get the strings stretched and the FR adjusted properly they seem to just stay in tune. If you restring with the same brand and gauge they are steady and tuned after a hr or two instead of a day or two. Great guitar for Metal and the neck PU is pretty good for the clean stuff. You can look and look for a flaw and you just dont find any. The Fret job is the best I have ever owned and I have had many guitars. Satan finish is great and the neck is thin and slick! zZounds has done a wonderful job on my purchases and its easy as 1,2,3. Thank goodness for their payment plan!

"Set Up To Arrive Damaged"

First off , zZounds is my favorite place to buy instruments. They are second to none in my customer service experience , and have always been superb. So with that said , let’s move onto the guitar. Guitar arrived in a beat up outer box , with one piece of thick folded cardboard as filler. Usually there is paper around the inner box to absorb shock. Not this packing job. The inner box had plenty of “wiggle room”. So as I expected , the guitar came out of the box with some issues. The “A” string was popped out of the bridge. There were rash marks around the edges of the body , from chaffing in the box I assume. The back of the neck had a sawdust feel under the finish. And the neck binding or edging if you will , was cracked in several places on either side of the guitar. Very disappointing to say the least. The guitar feels and looks cheaply made. This is NOT $1099 worth of a guitar , even if it were MINT. I looked this thing over fully and found something that really upset me , more than all of the other issues. The inspection and “Set Up To Play” stickers on the back. This unit was inspected on 10-28-2021. I took delivery on 11-22-2022. It was backordered for a month. So I got a year old guitar , as new? Hmmmm , very disturbing. And then of course ,the “set up to play” sticker. What a let down. I have several guitars , and not one of them is this poorly crafted. Indonesia made guitars are not good quality. I wish I could have at least played it , maybe it would have swayed my opinion. This clunker , in my eyes , should be in the $599 category. It is just not worth anything above it. $200 pickups in a $300 guitar.

"Beautiful guitar, incredible delivery time, but poor setup out of the box"

Some folks in a Schecter group I'm in recommended zZounds and I'm happy they did. I ordered this bad boy at noon on a Friday and it was here at noon the following day - no joke. That's with free shipping. Let me get the negative out of the way first: the setup. Even as a prior Floyd Rose owner, I've lost a day and a half trying to fix the poor setup this guitar came with but to no avail. I will have to take it to a tech to get it set up properly. Out of the box, the bridge float angle was off and the D-string saddle was as far forward as it could go which meant it actually made contact with the body of the guitar on big divebombs. After endless tinkering and a re-stringing, this guitar absolutely will not stay in tune when getting on the tremolo more than about 50% in either direction and that's a damn shame. Going through a bigger company like Sweetwater that inspects all guitars, this likely wouldn't have been an issue. So, buyer beware here. Floyd Rose's are a daunting challenge even for experienced buyers so I'd say it's unacceptable to send any FR guitar off without a proper setup. Onto the good. This is a kick ass guitar. The neck is fast as hell and overall the construction is very sturdy. It plays great and sounds just as good. Besides the setup, the guitar came in absolutely perfect condition - not a single blemish to be found anywhere. This is my 4th Schecter and I've never owned a bad one. Very much looking forward to tearing it up with this bad boy once it gets a proper setup.
