"Great Service, Terrible Quality Control"

Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
zZounds customer service has been some of the best I have encountered. I have had to send this bass back twice due to faulty tuners that were completely unusable and they did the returns incredibly fast and were always quick to respond to my emails. So, zZounds gets five stars. As for the bass, the quality control from Sterling is terrible and there is no way these instruments should have left the factory. The tuners seize and the gears break down, making them completely unusable. Everything else about the bass is great and seems to be well made but I wouldn't recommend this particular model due to the QC issues.
Sound
This bass sounds incredible. I am using it for heavier music but I think you could play a lot of different styles of music with it. In my opinion, it is killer for playing slap.
Features
Most useful: the pickup and electronics, as well as the neckLeast useful: the tuners
Ease of Use
The bass is very playable and pretty easy to use since ot only has the one pickup. It definitely requires a set up out of the box and you would want to avoid if you don't want to replace the tuners.
Quality
The bass is well made but the tuners are the worst I've ever used.
Value
If the hardware is good, this is a great bass.
Manufacturer Support
The manufacturer was willing to send replacement parts for the bass and were fairly quick to respond.
The Wow Factor
This bass looks great and the roasted maple neck feels incredible. I really love the sounds that I was able to get from it.
