I own quite a few bass guitars and this one is fantastic. It's is well balanced and feels incredibly comfortable. Practically plays itself. Electronics are high quality as is all the hardware. Mine is in Natural and it looks beautiful. All the quality of a Music Man at an amazing price.

This is the BEST BASS I have ever owned . I have a Thunderbird , a P bass, a Talman, and an ESP LTD D4. I have played a ton of basses over 16 years, but this one is special. I have the Ray34 SVB , and it is perfect for just about any type of music .I play in a cover band and a metal band . This bass ALWAYS stands out sonically . I’ve heard folks mention they think the lows might not be pronounced enough, but I assure you, with my bass amp tones set to neutral, the bass , when boosted on the active EQ on the bass , is BOOMING. The mids push it through any mix, and the treble can either make it SNARL or make it sound pretty mellow for stuff like country or motown. It’s a beautiful bass , beautifully set up and equipped to help you play like the serious player you are.
Sound
Sounds like a bass should . If you want to sound like anything from Queen to Pantera, this will get you there. It sounds like the iconic Stingray . Super bright highs, a constant growl, and the capability to have booming lows .
Features
The active eq is easy to use. You can’t make this bass sound bad . Even with all the tone knobs rolled down, it sounds great.
Ease of Use
Having played a great variety of basses, I’d say the neck “feels” bigger than some , but comfortable. The body is pretty big , but it’s comfortable enough to play sitting down . Frets and spacing make it very accessible to play.
Quality
The only nicer bass I’ve owned is an ESP LTD B4, and it’s only nicer because it’s a set neck and through body. I can’t find a flaw on the Ray34. This thing feels like a solid workhorse, but it’s elegant in the right ways. It’s timeless.
Value
Worth every penny . If you’re on the fence with buying a musicman for twice as much, or buying something close in price - get this. It’s also worth noting that this bass blows the SUB basses out of the water.
Manufacturer Support
I doubt I’ll ever have to call support.
The Wow Factor
Visually striking , sweet sounding , all around kick ass workhorse of a bass.

"Bad necks"

Overall: 2 out of 5 stars

Bought two of these. 1st one came with a neck that would not adjust. The E A was fine but the D G were significantly higher off the fret board. So, the EXCELLENT customer service of zZounds exchanged for another. Exact same thing....the neck was out of whack on the D G side. Apparently, EBMM is exchanging necks as of last year, (research the site) but two bad necks was enough. I bought a Fender Active Jazz, at a substantial increase in price, but an exceptional bass. I have owned 3 EBMM Stingrays and the tone of the ray34 was dead on. The body and finish were excellent. The necks, we, thats another story.
