I purchesd these headphones for practicing over backing tracks while also paying attention to my surrounding envierment inside my parents home who are in the mid 80s I wasn't comfortable being totally isolated these new cans are awesome for guitar practice high quilty sound while allowing me to pick-up ambient sounds from my parents if needed it's like playing guitar and interacting with the audience how cool is that thanks zZounds wow factor 100%....RocknRollflat5
