I purchased the Roli Songmaker kit and while its design is quite sleek and portable with the inclusion of the carry case this is about the only strong points this kit has. The bluetooth midi connectivity is basically useless and unreliable (for example if you use their rather limited Noise app and try run around 3-4 loops at the same time the sound will cut out and drop off constantly) so you have to use it with USB cable which is what i was hoping to avoid with this purchase. The lightpad block constantly triggers the wrong sounds and suffers from stuck notes frequently. The seaboard block however is quite good but once you get over the the extra touches for vibrato etc it becomes extremely limited as a midi controller. Now throw in the terrible customer service you can expect to receive from Roli (be wary of any special offer incentives they offer with a purchase as they will flat out renege on those offers and just have their terrible customer service people either respond with they cant help or no response at all) Needless to say a disappointing experience with Roli and was one I had high hopes for but thankfully zZounds (who have great customer service by the way) has many other great brands to chose from so I just purchased a new Akai midi controller that arrived today and I will be getting rid of the Roli products.
