"Awesome"

Sound
I compared the big three in this category (sorry kurtzweil) and overall the fantom offered the best compromise between excellent acoustical modeling and synthy tones.
Features
Awesome, paddle wheel is a little behind the curve though, I like Korg's joystick much better, although a pedal is better for expression and control anyway. D-beam....kind of a gimmick. Wish there were possibly 2 more real time control knobs. Action = excellent!!! Best synth-action out of the bunch.
Quality
Solid, solid, solid. Key action is even throughout the bed, the thing looks mad sharp in my room.
Value
All of these workstations are overpriced, try to haggle lol. I got 2 free expansion boards when I purchased mine.
Manufacturer Support
Now that the manuals are all online, support is getting better. Phone support is good but the wait times can be a little ridiculous. Some of the word choice and especially some diagrams in the manual are kind of ridiculous.

"best sounds for the buck!"
For the money, this product has all the workstation bells and whistles you need and then some. Realistic sounds, a zillion combinations, and adapts to every kind of style and type of music. Doesn't quite replace the feel of a regular piano, but never played a keyboard that feels that way. This one has nice touch, and is quite satisfying
Sound
Nice full sound, not tinny or shallow. Definitely out of the "toy" league, and into pro. Playing with the various 'output' adjustments can change the sound.
Features
The arpetiator is fantastic. Very flexible with number of notes per phrase, rests, ties...
Quality
great quality. I tend to bang on the keys a bit more than one should, but I never worry about hurting it.

"Makes a great midi controller (for better sounding soft synths)"
Verified Customer
zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Sound
The acoustic Piano sounds are great but you can definately tell that the sound quality of most all the patches are only 44.1 KHz (which may be fine in a live setting, but needs serious EQ in the studio) A lot of sounds especially in the expansions are old and used up.
Features
I found the skip back sampling to be very useful. The modulation wheel is cheaply made. No video out for a external monitor.
Ease of Use
Easy to get something started
Quality
Other than the sound quality and the mod wheel, theres not much else to complain about.

"Needs new OS dont buy until they make it!!!!"
Verified Customer
zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
All in all if they upgrade there os with powerfull new features i will be happy, until that point im a mean mugging dude in oregon.
Sound
Yeah it sounds good but why dont they give you more effects in multimode?? its just areal hassel. a 200 dollar nova goves you 48 at once! They could have made it a little easyer to synch the delaytime though to. The ringmod they give you for each patch is just crap... again you gotta use effects :( DUMB because they could have done more with it. ALSO wheres my eq at??? they need one , they multiband compressors cool, but by itsself dosnt cut it.
Features
I bought this thing to be an upgrade to my roland S-50.... big upgrade. anyway they dont give me the option on this to run my sample forward then backwards, like my s-50 and w-30, they could fix this , i hope they do.
How bout unison ??? thatd be cool.
other than those and the ringmod problem and lack of effects, yeah its got cool features as far as synthesies, its got the most, but still needs more.
Ease of Use
YES creating sounds is easy, way more than any Motif or triton , thats why i bought it, but it has a real problem. no way in this keyboard to keep from loading up ALL your samples at startup, its either all or nothing wich means it could take forever if your actually using this as your recorder, dumb. i mean it guys you cant even create folders in the utilitys screen like i can on my mpc, this keyboard feels the need to load all of my sounds for my sounds audio tracks at startup too! i would rather just load them up depending on the song i want to load. i really hope they plan to fix this huge problem with this board. When i turn on my keyboard i dont want to have to sit around forever to play , and i dont want to have to erase them but it seems i have little choice. FIX IT!
ALSO why cant i just preveiw my samples before i load them??? Thats another real fix pronto
Quality
My keys make hella noise when i use them, very weird, the screen get scratched way too easy, so i would never want to take it on the road unless they make some kind of protection for it, other than that , the os seems real stable, beats the hell out of any pc!! wich isnt hard to do!, billgates dont care about making music, hope roland dose
Value
Oh yeah its a great buy if you dont mind the problems i have brought up.
Manufacturer Support
OMG! yo dont plan on callin up these dudes without getting into a fight, im not stupid , ive been making music since i was 14 and im 20 now. i know what im doing, but everytime i call i get some dude from LA who wants to talk to me like im a little kid, every guy workin theres got problems. If i lived in LA id punch them in the mouth. Makes you wish they would get outsourced to India!!!! LOL!!
The Wow Factor
i have owned it for over a year , i know everything about it , wich really isnt much, kinda makes me want to get a triton.. sad to say seeing as how they could make this the greatest board on earth.

Roland Fantom X6 Customer Review
Sound
Yes! Practice, practice, and practice. Your best ideal way of making this product a main resource in your studio is understand what you can create with it. The more you understand the phases of working and operating this Keyboard is to get hands on experience with it.
Ease of Use
It's very playable. I don't play any instruments or been in any band before but I have an Ear, if you wnat to call it that, for music. I just try to layer whatever instrumentle I have in my head with the Fantom six, and with the easy controlls and accessories, it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be.
Quality
No loose parts or jinky audio knobbs.

"Good keyboard"
Overall. I am happy with this. You can do quite a lot with this.
Sound
Great sounds, effects.
Features
the audio track expansion is awesome. great effects as I mentioned and the sampling makes it top.
Quality
I believe the product is made well. No problems.
Value
Of course we always want to price a little lower, but this is worth for what you get in comparison.
Manufacturer Support
In the past Roland has been okay with me...but I have not called regarding this product.
The Wow Factor
I was looking at all of the three big ones but was partial to Roland for their sounds. I heard it was easier to use this one too, now with the audio track expansion too..it makes it fun and this has some edges over the others. But I think it is what you want in a keyboard which will make a person pick this over that. investigate what each keyboard has and what you want in it, play with them in stores too before buying.

"Champ of the workstations"
Stop agonizing. Buy the Fantom X and realize workstation bliss.
Sound
The triple-strike piano is off the hook. Most realistic on the market. All natural sounds are fantastic, as are the vintage synths.
Drums not so hot, get the SRX board which is amazing. Guitars -- well, I don't like the guitars on any workstation. Flute? Buy a flute. So it's not perfect, but it's better than anything else out there.
Features
Kills everything else on the market. On board pads, skip-back sampling, PC integration. What more do you want.
Quality
Roland -- drop it out of an airplane, let it crash into the ocean and sink to the bottom for 100 years...they'll drag it out in 2104 and it will still work.
Value
And to top it all off, it's cheaper than Motif and Triton!
Manufacturer Support
Everyone knows this is Roland's achilles heel. Be prepared to figure it out on your own.
The Wow Factor
I love it but not enough to have sex with it. But then I have sex with my girlfriend and don't love her...
