Just unboxed the FA-07. Much, much nicer keybed feel than my VR-09 and Juno DS-61. I bought this board so that I don't have to take my FA-08 (also purchased through zZounds) out of the studio. (Note: The VR-09 keybed feels great for the organ sounds on it... the Juno DS-61 keybed is just plain awful overall but it's still a good filler synth because it has some pretty cool sounds on it.) Nice strong feel to the keys. They are about 3/8" shorter than the FA-08 keys and they feel really nice for everything. Even the electric pianos feel great on these keys. This thing will be perfect for playing out live. The overall weight of the synth will be a breeze to carry. Obviously all the sounds are fantastic as we know from the FA-08. They even included the 'dull finish' overlays in a plastic package (in the keyboard box) if you don't like the shiny finish of the 07. The FA-07 ships with version 2.00 already installed and the expansion slots are empty. The screensaver is different too. It's much more becoming of the synth than the 'dystopian' screensaver on the FA-08. I purchased the Gator G-PG 76SLIM ProGo Gig Bag along with the synth and it's like this case was made for this synth. It fits perfectly... absolutely perfectly!!! It's not a hard shell case like the SKB R6020W that I bought for my FA-08 (which is too big for the FA-08) but Gator gig backs are pretty durable and give a decent amount of protection. I usually carry my own boards anyway. Overall, I am thrilled with this keyboard. I purchased it mainly for performing live. 61 keys just don't do it for me live. A 61 key synth is a great addition to have on stage but I am looking to make the FA-07 my main live board and retire my Korg Krome from that duty. I'm a happy camper.
