I’ve never owned anything other than a combo amp my whole life. And none of which, have ever been high-quality. Finally invested in an Orange 35Rt Combo amp, and that in of itself, was a game changer. Still I was missing something. After months of research & window shopping for Amps, I decided it was time to find the best Head/Cab duo for someone like me, on a budget, of about $500-$600 MAX(Continue reading)I decided, since orange was on top of my list, since I first laid ears on them, that i’d go with the Orange Micro Dark Terror. This only leaves a matter of the Cabinet. I was torn between an Orange Cab, and a Randall Cab, I knew I HAD to have a V30 Celestion Speaker, because that’s ultimately the balls of a lot of the high end amps. Long Story Short, it was a no-brainer for me. The Orange Cab I was looking at, the 1x12 with a V30, would have matched my Amp choice, but for $80-$100 more. I decided to go the cheaper route and got the Randall RD-112 V30 for $299, and I am so so happy that I did. It’s a match made in heaven... and I’m not sure anyone else has experienced this same duo before, (Randall RD-112 V30 paired with Orange Micro Dark Terror) The QUALITY of this cabinet is ADDICTIVE!! I could spend my whole night in front of it playing, and not to mention I’ve broke it in a bit now and it just sounds so killer, and when paired with ANY good amp head, this thing will impress!!! The possibilities of tone are endless, and the Vintage 30 Celestion, not only speaks for itself, but to me, it SOLD itself..Moral of the story .... While I have a somewhat, Mixed set-up with my Orange Amp & Randall Cab... I can honestly tell you this. While amp HEADS will come, and go. The RD-112 V30 Cab, will still be there!!!
